Today's real wedding is serving up spectacular florals, an atmospheric setting and a whole lot of love. Morgan & Rohan were friends who fell in love, and their wedding at Larchfield Estate & Barn in Lisburn was a real celebration of both their relationship and their faith, with all those closest to them by their sides. Captured by Emma Rock Photography, we're in love with Morgan's fabulous rose crown, we're mad about the cosy floral-filled setting, and we are positively smitten with how much Rohan clearly adores his new bride!
Morgan & Rohan met each other at their local church, “We were friends for a long time and whilst we dated other people, we loved hanging out with our friendship group and just having fun as young people. As we both embraced single life our friendship was blossoming. My best friend went on a date with Rohan (awkward!) and after the girly gossip post-date chat my friends revealed that he was totally my type and that I should really think about making a move.” The pressure!
Now this is some flower crown! Just wait until you see it on.
Morgan says the had a long think about what to do next, “I decided to flirt a bit and see what reaction I would get. We began to date and decided quite early on that we both wanted to date with the intent to marry and so early on we put things in place that would help us when that time came.”
The couple say they were very deliberate in the kind of relationship they wanted to have, “We learned a lot from older mentors and really wanted to have a very open, fun loving relationship. We dated for nearly two years, got engaged and married a year later and the rest is history.”
Morgan and her bridesmaids carried gorgeous foliage-heavy bouquets which made the pink dresses even prettier!
As you can see, florals and nature were a real theme of the wedding!
Morgan tells us about Rohan’s amazing Parisian proposal. “We were both on holidays at Christmas time with my family to Disneyland Paris and Rohan took me into the city for the day. We saw some sights and went on a boat ride down the river. At the end of the boat ride we went to the Eiffel Tower and he got down in one knee, after he gave his very shaky, loving speech and finally popped the question! I was so happy!”
Morgan and Rohan planned a wedding that would reflect them as a couple, “We wanted our guests to feel relaxed, happy and at ease. We had not thought of a specific theme for our wedding day but were drawn to décor that reflected our relaxed personalities and love for quirky, vintage flare.”
The bride and groom made sure they stuck to their vision for the day. “From the very beginning we both made a decision to stay true to ourselves and go with what we wanted rather than be swayed by the wedding planning buzz. We wanted people to see our love for each other but also our love for God too and we reflected our this throughout our day.”
The wrapped top on Morgan's wedding dress is so unusual, the embellishment and fluttering sleeves are so gorgeous too!
Some fab winter wedding guest style being rocked here!
What a beaut! Like I said, we are loving Morgan's wedding day style, so chilled, yet so chic!
The couple knew exactly what they wanted in a wedding venue, “We had always wanted a relaxed but beautiful barn venue that had character, class and authenticity and when we viewed Larchfield, we totally fell in love with it and knew that this was the place we wanted to seal our love in.”
“What made our day all the more special for us was that we knew every one of our guests,” says Morgan. “They are all people who love us and care for us and that really made us feel so special. We really felt that we didn’t have to perform or worry about how things went throughout the day because of this we could relax ad take every moment of our special day in with people who we love.”
This pair are too cute!
The newlyweds have words of wisdom to pass on to other couples planning their big day, “Stay true to your vision and stay true to you, don’t feel pressured or get caught up in “Wedding Politics” this day reflects your character and your love for each other and just keep your love for your future spouse at the forefront of all the stress and craziness of wedding planning.”
The couple added lots of sweet touches to the already gorgeous barn venue.
The pair planned an amazing two-stop honeymoon, “We had looked at quite a few places and couldn’t really decide as we loved a number of places but in the end we decided to honeymoon in Miami for four days and then Mexico for eight nights. We loved it!”
Thanks so much to Morgan and Rohan for sharing your fabulous wedding with us - and to Emma Rock Photography for sending her gorgeous work our way.
