Bold Colour and Epic Florals: Tim & Jarleth

A seriously stylish wedding with a super sweet penguin theme!

I don't know about you, but looking at Tim and Jarleth's gorgeous real wedding is making me so excited for post-Covid restriction weddings! This loved-up pair chose the stunning Larchfield Estate in Co. Antrim as the backdrop for their June 2019 wedding, and, between the breezy, Summer groom style, the incredible floral arch, the magical cake display and the adorable inclusion of penguins everywhere from the stationery to the place settings, we're head over heels in love with their big day! Loreen Katherine Photography was kind enough to share the images from their Larchfield Estate wedding with us, so let's take a closer look!
From Co. Antrim and Hertfordshire, Jarleth and Tim tell us that they originally met online and went for their first date at Muriel's gin bar in Belfast. "It turned out that we’d lived around the corner from each other for a couple of years," Jarleth tells us, "and had even run the same 10k race a few months previously, finishing within a few seconds of one another - Tim won!"
The couple got engaged on a ski holiday in Kitzbühel, Austria. Jarleth remembers, "Tim got down on one knee in a foot of fresh snow on the balcony of the hotel room and popped the question. I was relieved that the small box presented to me did not contain a diamond ring, but rather a pair of penguin cufflinks!" How sweet that these cufflinks made an appearance on the couple's big day!
Tim and Jarleth's top priority for their wedding was to have, "a day to remember and cherish. Both being keen hosts, and with many guests travelling from far and wide, we wanted to make sure that everyone just had a great time, from start to finish."
It took the couple no time at all to settle on Larchfield Estate as their wedding venue. "Larchfield is a magical venue with wonderful features inside and out, which need very little additional decoration," they tell us. "We were blessed with a beautiful, sunny day so were able to go ahead with our plans to hold the ceremony outdoors in the walled gardens, which meant for a truly enchanting and very memorable setting. The one thing we didn’t think to supply for the day was sun cream for our guests, which meant there were a few unexpected tan lines by the end of the drinks reception!"
This couple actually made it official a few months before their wedding day. They tell us, "We got legally married a few months earlier on the edge of Lake Rotorua, New Zealand. This meant we were able to relax that little bit more on our wedding day in Larchfield. It also meant we were able to ask our dear friend and Jarleth’s former flatmate, Karen, to be our celebrant. We replicated much of our New Zealand ceremony and spoke the same vows. Having a friend officiate really made it that extra special and personal!"
I love how the couple's outfits on the day complimented each other, but without matching too closely!
After the wedding, the couple jetted off to Croatia for a minimoon. "We had planned to go on a big honeymoon in Vietnam, which got a bit disrupted by the pandemic," they tell us. "We are looking forward to rebooking that when we can."
How magical is this couple's tree cake display!? It featured three single-tier cakes, each with their own, unique decoration!

Thanks so much to Tim and Jarleth for sharing their gorgeous Larchfield Estate wedding with us, and to Loreen Katherine Photography for providing the beautiful imagery! There are even more photographs to swoon over in the gallery below.
