Infused with a subtle Halloween theme, Lara and Andy's colourful wedding celebration was hosted within the walls of the charming Bellinter House in Co. Meath. Adorned with pumpkins and ivy, the country house played the perfect host for the couple's relaxed, laughter-filled day complete with stationery designed by the bride herself and an epic six-tiered cheese wheel cake! The colour palette of their vibrant wedding consisted of dark teal, berry and burnt orange shades which carried through to the dreamy bouquets and floral arrangements from sustainable florist O'Reilly Flowers. The wooded autumnal landscape served as a picture perfect backdrop for Lara and Andy's special day which was captured wonderfully by Folklore Photography. You will find plenty of inspiration for your own autumnal wedding celebration.
Let's go down memory lane for a moment and recount how the happy couple met. Thirteen years ago Lara found herself in a bar in Bray, Co. Wicklow and spotted Andy from across the bar. Lara went on to ask a mutual friend to set them up and over a decade later they said 'I do'.
When it came time for the proposal, Andy used a dummy engagement ring as he knew Lara was set on designing her own. Her engagement ring, which also serves as her wedding ring, was created by melting down rings that had belonged to her Russian and Hungarian grandparents and adding a new centre teal sapphire stone, resulting in an incredibly sentimental, one-of-a-kind piece.
Our radiant bride Lara donned an elegant tulle and mesh A-line gown, with subtle sequins sewn throughout the bodice and floral embroidered long sleeves. Lara opted for a elegant, loosely plaited hairstyle adorned with an eye-catching gold, pearl and leaf design hairpin. Her richly coloured, vibrant wedding bouquet featured an array of autumnal foliage, cascading saffron hued florals, bright pops of berry and warm roses to tie the arrangement together.
Lara's trio of bridesmaids wore a medley of jewel-toned velvet dresses in coordinating styles and textures and held their own complementary autumnal bouquets in sunset shades. So gorgeous!
Lara and Andy's ceremony was on site at Bellinter House in the understated, minimalist Nunnery Suite, which features an airy, arched ceiling and elegant stone columns. Their pared-back, tasteful ceremony included a candle lighting ritual and the space was dotted with pretty floral arrangements.
Following the ceremony, the couple had their photos taken on the breathtaking grounds of the Bellinter Estate and later reemerged from the chilly autumnal wedding day for their reception inside the eclectic country house. Adorned with Georgian features and decorated with quirky interiors, Bellinter House was the perfect venue choice for Lara and Andy who were on the hunt for an old house with character. The couple's main priority for their special day was that they and their 132 guests enjoyed themselves.
The couple embraced their October wedding with touches of Halloween fun, from the variety of pumpkins scattered throughout their venue to the ivy trailing along the entrance stairs. Colourful masquerade masks were placed on each table as well as monkey nuts and rust coloured cheese cloth table runners.
The star of the show, the savoury cheese wheel cake, stood six tiers tall and featured a variety of cheeses and fruity accompaniments for all tastes! The night included plenty of speeches and the couple went on to have their first dance to Loving You by Paolo Nutini. After their whirlwind of a wedding, the pair jetted off for a relaxing honeymoon in sunny Lanzarote.
