This Is One Pretty Epic Wedding Film: Dervla & Alister

Two dresses, lots of palm trees, one stunning celebration

I almost don't want to say anything about today's wedding film, I feel like it needs to be seen to be believed. Dervla & Alister got married with an incredible party at Kilshane House in Tipperary, and their wedding film, by Story of Eve captures all the incredible style and spectacular decor in their signature movie-like style. From the stunning venue and the gorgeous couple to the killer dance moves and the *actual fireworks*, hit play to be thoroughly enthralled and inspired by their day.

From the Bride

Dervla tells us a little more about the story behind her and Alister's Kilshane House wedding...

We're both entrepreneurs living in Hong Kong. I'm half Irish and Egyptian, and after spending my childhood in Saudi Arabia and teenage years in Ireland, I moved to Hong Kong six years ago. We met at Alister's New Year's Eve party when our best friends introduced us. My first impression was that he had great hair and threw very fun parties. After one month we were long distance dating, after six months he had moved to Hong Kong, and after two years we were engaged. I knew he was the one on our second date when I couldn't eat or string a cohesive sentence together because I was so nervous.

We put down a deposit in a small venue in France quite soon after we got engaged. Let's just say our parents had other ideas and separated us during a trip to Rome and made us both come to the conclusion separately that a big Irish wedding was a far better way to celebrate. They were right, as parents usually are.

I did a lot of online research and narrowed it down to a few venues but as soon as I saw palm trees in the conservatory at Kilshane House online I was sold. In Ireland the probability of rain on your wedding day is very high so the glass conservatory was a great solution.

I asked Gemma to make it rain flowers and she did. I wanted a wedding with very little waste, lots of flowers, golden pineapples and non-stop music. Alister wanted  delicious food and beverages plus a big party. The team nailed everything we asked for. The flowers blew my mind. Gemma and The French Touch turned the church into a forest of flowers and the orangery into a hanging garden with vines and roses.

A funny story from our day? The door handle to our wedding suite broke and we slept on the windowsill for a few hours before being rescued by the bartender who fixed it and let us in the room. We were so happy we didn't mind.
