It may be July but it's far from Summery at the moment, but do not despair if you're about to tie the knot (like me - 10 days to go!!) today's gorgeous real wedding proves you don't need blue sky and sunshine to have a fabulous day. Caren and Ken were wed on a grey day in Spring, but the overcast skies and chilly temperature didn't dampen any spirits as they chose the beautiful Kilshane House for their nuptials and were wed inside the majestic glass conservatory.

Sean Curtin was the man behind the camera lens capturing the celebration and he did a stellar job on this stylish wedding, enjoy...

Moody grey skies provide a suitably striking backdrop for the gorgeous Kilshane House in Tipperary, where the excitement is mounting...

At the top of the house, the preparations begin...

But first we have to hear how the love story started..."I was going to Austria on a skiing trip with Wella (the colour company) and so was Ken. I walked into Dublin Airport at 5.30am Paddy's morning on my own to meet up with the other 12 people, none of whom I knew, and apparently he spotted me walking into the airport and was eyeing me up ( I don't know how true that is but that's his story). So we were introduced by one of the Wella reps and headed straight to the bar. His best friend was also with him, so we all had a few drinks before the flight. Anyhow after a long journey and lots of drinks we got to Austria and all met downstairs for dinner that evening, Ken sat across from me and that was it, he was eating off my plate I was flirting outrageously with him. There was a kiss at the end of the night and from there on in we were obsessed and spent the whole trip together. Not a whole lot of skiing done, but loads of apres-ski! We got home and that was it, every weekend was spent travelling between Limerick and Dublin until we bought our house in the October of that year."

Caren and Ken are hilarious - real party people, as their engagement story shows... "We went to the G hotel in Galway for a weekend, after going out for a few leisurely drinks in the afternoon we came back to the hotel and ordered some champagne, and then some more... Later Ken asked me to marry him, I accepted and we rang our parents  - bear in mind this is 3 o'clock in the morning! So we woke up the following morning with very sore heads and I had to remind Ken of what had happened. It was actually quite funny ... Officially though, we  got engaged in South Africa, where we got the ring and he went down on one knee then :)"

While Caren is preparing, the boys are ready and waiting patiently, so there was time for a quick wander round the grounds of Kilshane House

Ken and his merry men smartened up in french navy suits from Cavalli with dark navy knitted silk ties. Handsome devils. But back to Caren, and the dress (trust me, it's the main event) ...

Those eagle-eyed ladies among you may recognise this Jenny Packham style - it's the same dress as the Duchess of Cambridge wore in green to a gala a few months ago. It's utterly stunning and so dreamy - possibly my favourite dress of 2012. Caren paired it with crimson nails and patent peeptoe shoes from Christian Louboutin, bringing more than a touch of glamour into the mix.

"Walking up the aisle to meet Ken I was very emotional, I felt like exploding, I've never felt like that it was amazing. It's a totally different to anything else!"

The ceremony took place in the conservatory at Kilshane House, a fantastic option for an almost-outdoor ceremony at any time of the year. Surrounded by lush foliage and exotic plants, but kept dry and warm inside, nicely protected from the notoriously unpredictable Irish weather.

But finding the perfect setting was far from easy..."We were looking for the right venue for 3 years! We went from France to Spain and one end of Ireland to the other. It was going to be a decision we made properly. I heard Kilshane was stunning and we could have the whole place to ourselves so we drove out to meet Ruth and fell in love with it. It is the most perfect venue and couldn't recommend it highly enough and I'm a fussy divil!"

When it came to the style of celebration, Caren and Ken weren't really into details and decor..."We didn't really want a theme, but what we did want is all our family and friends coming and to think this is really Ken & Caren .. Relaxed and different I loved the idea of candle light and really nothing that conformed to what a typical wedding is... Just a shindig really." And isn't that what a wedding is really about? And they certainly had a good time...

So what advice would you give to brides and grooms planning their day? "Don't let anybody else get involved, it's your day not anybody else's. Stick to your guns. And don't invite people because it's what you think people expect, invite them because you want them there. And be organised! It leaves no room for error then!"

So there you have it. A beautiful day that reflected Caren and Ken's party-on attitude, loads of style and brilliant craic! Huge congratulations to Caren and Ken, and many thanks for sharing your day with us. Here's to a long and happy life together!

And to Sean & Kate Curtin, a big shout out for the fabulous photography and for letting us share this beautiful work. If you loved Caren and Ken's wedding, then pop over to seancurtin.com for lots more goodies...
