A Tangerine Dream: Jen & Rob's Vibrant Autumnal Wedding

Pops of orange, a cheese wheel cake and plenty of character!

Basking in the September sun, our glowing real wedding couple Jen and Rob enjoyed a bright and stylish reception at the idyllic Tankardstown House. Eye-catching pops of tangerine, burnt orange and apricot were woven throughout this colourful country house wedding, an aesthetic stemming from Jen's striking bridesmaid dresses. From the bride's manicure to the incredible floral arrangements by The French Touch, rich orange hues were the focal point of this dreamy wedding celebration, wonderfully captured by Dasha Caffrey Photography. This autumnal real wedding will serve as a fantastic source of inspiration for your own autumnal celebration!

Before diving into Jen and Rob's charming wedding day, let's go down memory lane for a moment! The pair are college sweethearts and met through lectures in Galway, where lingering glances developed into a long-lasting relationship.

On a romantic getaway to Iceland, Jen's friends suggested that with the pair being together for so long, a proposal was on the horizon. When no popping of the question in the first two days of their trip, Jen put the idea out of her mind. Little did she know, Rob was holding off until the 'right moment' came to propose. Not wanting to wait another day, Rob brought Jen to a waterfall - "as we were walking to the top of the falls, it started pouring out of the heavens, I turned around to Rob on one knee!"

Our gorgeous bride Jen opted for a minimalist silk, V-neck gown with a trumpet silhouette and an elegant lace-detailed open back and statement bow. Her shining bridesmaids also donned satin gowns in a vibrant orange hue and had matching chic slicked back hairstyles. The trio's stunning bouquets included sprigs of eucalyptus, dahlia and pastel roses created by The French Touch .A theme that was brought right through to the table centrepieces and amazing floral arches at the entrance to the ceremony which you can see below.

The pair had their ceremony in a picture perfect church in Rathfeigh, Co. Meath. Jen made her way down the aisle to the tune of Feels Like Home -"every time we listen to it, it brings us back to that moment of walking down the aisle and catching each other’s eyes for the first time."

Due to lockdown restrictions, Jen and Rob's wedding had been delayed and postponed which meant they were over the moon to finally have all their family and friends in one place to celebrate together. "We literally had the best day of our lives. It’s so special knowing everyone has taken time out of their own busy lives to come to celebrate with you. Everyone brought their A-game – it was one hell of a party!" The delay served as a blessing in disguise as it allowed for Jen and Rob to spend the day with their new twin babies, Ruby and Erin!

When it comes to wedding planning, Jen and Rob had this advice to share: "Decide early on what your priorities are and reflect that in the allocation of your budget. Try to remember the bigger picture of what’s important to you, rather than the minutia. People will not remember whether you had an ice-cream cart in addition to the abundance of canapés flying around!"

After a sun-soaked photoshoot on the scenic grounds of Tankardstown House, the couple made their way inside for their reception. While scoping out venues, the pair had their heart set on a country house so they could spend a weekend staycationing with their beloved guests and Tankardstown House fit that bill perfectly. They now look forward to returning to the venue for future special occasions!

The night went on to include plenty of speeches, a sparkler photoshoot, the cutting of an epic eight-layered cheese wheel cake and a first dance to You Are The Best Thing by Ray Lamontagne! Lockdowns put a stop to international travel plans for their honeymoon, so they switched to a staycation in Ireland, staying in lovely hotels throughout the country.
