The weddings in today's Saturday Selection have got a few things in common - outdoor ceremonies, Something Blue bridesmaids and DIY décor - but actually, the unifying theme is the sheer excitement radiating from these four couples, who were jumping for joy on their big day (quite literally, in one case!). These Irish real weddings took place all over the country - Offaly, Wicklow, Monaghan and Cork, to be precise - and they are packed with pretty ideas for engaged couples to steal, from Prosecco Pimping Stations to colourful paper pom poms! Let's take a look...
A DIY Dream: Carole & Paddy
The temperamental Irish weather has scuppered the plans of many a couple who dreamed of having their ceremony on the lawn at Gloster House, but Carole and Paddy managed it (just about!) with their stylish and personal DIY wedding. The loved-up pair recruited family members to help put their big day together - Carole's Mum did the flowers, which matched her own outfit (a genius move, in our opinion!), family members provided the music and the couple even created a dress-up corner for fun photo ops! Photographer Corin Bishop was there to capture every last detail of the day, which you can see over on his blog.
All the Colours of the Rainbow: Gordon & Daniel
Martha Stewart ain't got nothing on crafty grooms Gordon and Daniel, who baked their own wedding cakes and made their own décor for their big day at Trudder Lodge in Co. Wicklow! We love how they incorporated colour into their marquee dining space - multicoloured candles, pom poms and paper garlands mixed effortlessly with vibrant greenery, as captured here by EF Creative Wedding Photography. Gordon and Daniel had a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the garden at Trudder Lodge, which you can see over on Ewa's blog here.
Shades of Blue: Eimear & Paul
We're not sure that we've ever seen a more sophisticated wedding-day squad than this one! Eimear and Paul chose a blue colour palette for their big day at Castle Leslie Estate, and between Eimear's 1920s-inspired Temperley gown, Paul's Louis Copeland & Sons suit, their daughter Stella's Paul Costelloe flower girl dress and the gorgeously glittery bridesmaid dresses (can you believe they're from Mango?), we are absolutely sold on this look! Photographer Larry McMahon was spoiled for picturesque backdrops to use for the couple's wedding portraits, but we are particularly partial to the images taken on the venue's Green Lake! A Dress Made for Dancing: Emer & Philip
We love a retro bride here at One Fab Day, and this 1950s-inspired look is drop-dead stunning! Emer and Philip are fans of all things timeless, including classic cars and swing dancing, which both featured in their big day at Barnabrow House! We're pretty smitten with Emer's royal blue bridesmaids too - a pink shoe is a great way to up the style factor, and make the most of those colourful bouquets! These lovely images come to us courtesy of Rory O'Toole Photography, who has posted more from Emer and Philip's wedding over on his blog.
