An Autumnal Dream At Ballymagarvey Village: Roisin & Tom

Blue velvet, home-grown flowers and warm autumn shades!

Are you ready to fall madly in love with burnt Autumn colours, royal blues and a magnificent Irish castle? We are bringing you a real wedding that is above and beyond beautiful from Rosin and Tom. These lovebirds met while both were living in London and haven't left each other's side since. Their stunning wedding day took place in Ballymagarvey Village in Meath, which is packed to the brim with rustic Irish charm and looked incredible decked out in floral decor by Petite Fleurs inspired by the falling leaves. Images on the day were captured by the keen eye of Claire from Studio Brown and the result is spectacular. Let's take a look!

Roisin hails from Kilkenny and Tom is a Londoner, but actually studied in Trinity College Dublin. Although they had mutual friends, Roisin says the couple didn't meet until they had both moved to London. "We met through friends. We spent two wonderful years in London being tourists, going to shows, and queuing for restaurants!"

We loved Tom's tuxedo jacket from Louis Copeland & Sons. The navy velvet is seriously sharp and complements Roisin's accessories and the blue accents in the flowers and bridal party.

The proposal came as a perfect surprise for Roisin. "Tom surprised me by proposing in New York right before the pandemic hit. I had fallen in love with a particular grey diamond in work that I thought had been sold to a customer, but as it turns out Tom had been conspiring with my whole team to get it for me. We went for dinner and to see a Broadway show after, so it was a pretty perfect day." How sweet is that?

Their goals for their wedding were to prioritise relaxing and celebrating with all of their family after restrictions had eased. "Aside from having as many people as restrictions would allow us to celebrate with, we knew from the beginning that we wanted a relaxed ceremony, a band and a great photographer to capture it all. We were always really looking forward to the party part of the day, but especially after all of the lockdowns we just really wanted to have fun and catch up with all of our people in one room."

As soon as they laid eyes on Ballymagarvey they knew it was the one. "When researching venues we loved the history of Ballymagarvey from the beginning; it involves an Irish Lord and a Welsh Princess and although born in London, Tom grew up in Wales so we thought it was a great fit!"

The couple wanted to have an autumn wedding that incorporated all of the amazing colours and florals of the season. Roisin's mum actually helped with the flowers and each table had a bouquet from their home which was a very special touch. "It felt really special to have a piece of home with me on the day," explains Roisin.

Roisin's advice for couples planning a wedding is to relax as much as possible. "It’s so easy to stress out in the lead up with everything that has to be done, but try and enjoy the build up and take some time off before if you can. The day itself goes by so quickly and you don’t get to spend lots of time with any one person, so we were delighted we had a chance to have dinners and drinks out with friends and family beforehand."

The couple chose Spring Break as their wedding band which was something they thoroughly enjoyed and we can totally see why. It looks like the dance floor was rocking, and we're sure the wedding film captured by videographers Run Wild Weddings will show all the fun that was had.

The couple did a trip around Kerry for their mini-moon and are planning to go to Australia to see Roisin's sister who was stuck in Australia for the wedding due to Covid.

A huge thank you to Roisin and Tom for sharing their beautiful Ballymagarvey Village wedding with us. A massive thank you also to Studio Brown for these beautiful images. There are more swoon worthy images in the gallery below.
