We're fond of an eccentric Irish wedding tradition here at One Fab Day, particularly those that relate to the weather! That's why we're always interested to hear the weather predictions of Michael Gallagher, the former postman and amateur forecaster from Donegal who bases his prognosis on the behaviour of animals and plants. His methods are disputed by the folk at Met Éireann but he's been right about the 2018 summer heatwave and the 2010 freeze, so we're not going to argue with him, especially when he's got good news for couples getting married in Ireland in Summer 2019!
Speaking to the Irish Sun, Gallagher told the Irish public, "Don't throw away your sun lotion yet. There's a good part of summer still to come. It's very hard to put a time on it but there is a change on the way." Gallagher says that traditional weather forecasting methods indicate that we'll have another warm and sunny Summer this year. "I was on the mountains on Sunday, out on the Blue Stack mountains... It was one of the coldest days ever I saw on the mountains, and the old people always say that's a great sign... that summer's not over and things are looking up." That's good enough for us - bring on the SPF 50!
