As promised, the second of today's lovely real weddings - this time we jet off to sunnier climes, to the party island of Ibiza for the nuptial festivities of Silvia and Riccardo, two fun-loving free spirits who capped off their long-standing romance with a beachside fun-fest with family and friends. There to capture the good times was Keith from Fusion Photography, for whom I'm sure it was a real trial to travel to capture this gorgeous pair in the sunshine...
Let's start at the very beginnning, it is, after all, a very good place to start: "We met originally in a club in Sardegna in 2001, and since that day we have always been in each others lives, but in various ways. The first two years I was not ready and sure about his feelings so I was playing around, and once I was ready, he was not anymore. Then when I came back from a one year trip in the U.S, we met and never left each other again."
Ok, so earlier I made reference to doing a Kate Middleton and doing your own make-up, it's not something I particularly recommend but if you're as gorgeous as Silvia, you could probably just use a makeup gun and still look phenomenal...
A warm climate calls for a light and floaty wedding dress, and Silvia chose a delicate layered chiffon gown by Jenny Packham - absolutely perfect for staying cool and comfortable but looking utterly elegant...
So after a slightly rocky start to their romance, Silvia and Riccardo settled down together happily, unsurprisingly he was eager to seal the deal and make a permanent fixture of this relationship... "He didn’t make a real proposal, he was so excited to show me the ring that he couldn’t wait and take it out from his pocket!"
The happiest man in the world?
Now this is something that every Irish wedding could do with (if we had the weather that is). Outside the church Silvia and Riccardo organised a cocktail reception complete with some delicious looking Sangria I spy...
Silvia and Riccardo's wedding is like an ad for Ibiza - these are some of the most epic wedding portraits we've ever shown, the landscape is just magnificent, providing the perfect backdrop for images Silvia and Riccardo will treasure forever...
One word: Wow!
My friends came all the way from Italy to Ibiza, and this was really a lot! They were with us for more than the one day, spending time with us over the following days as well, at the beach, Restarants, and having fun on a catamaran. My family were really helpful taking care of my two little boys, throughout our stay in Ibiza, giving me and Riccardo some precious time for ourselves.
And as the sun set it was time to get down to the serious business of partying...
As a place they were really familiar with, loving the food, the atmosphere (and the music) the Blue Marlin club in Ibiza was a natural choice for Silvia and Riccardo for their reception.
What advice would you give to brides and grooms planning their day? "To plan the whole day in a way they really really like and feel comfortable with. I know it’s not easy because there lots of things in between, but it’s not impossible!"
Congratulations Silvia and Riccardo! And if you love the epic photography, then make sure to hop over to www.fusionphotography.ie for more beautiful work by Keith and Jenny...
