Hues Of Blue: Michelle + David's Outdoor Celebration

A sunny summer wedding to brighten up your day...

Some couples want to diy everything at their wedding, some couples just want to enjoy the day and let someone else do the worrying about the niggly little details, Michelle and David belong to the latter camp. For them the main priority was to make sure that their wedding was the kind of celebration that would like to attend as guests (not just as the couple), no fuss or drama. So sensible people that they are, they got in the professionals, and with a little helping hand from Blue Moon Events their day in Tullyveery was their dream come true from beginning to end.

Michelle and David's first meeting was in that classic modern ballroom of romance: a night club. They were both out with their respective work colleagues, when they caught each other's eye.

The proposal was that bit more exotic and happened on holiday in Phuket, Thailand. The holiday was in celebration of Michelle's birthday and on the first night David totally surprised her, in the words of Beyonce - he put a ring on it! Little did she know he'd been panicked all through airport security, just in case his ring was revealed. Not necessarily the first thing you'd think about when planning a romantic proposal abroad, but I'm sure quite a few would-be Romeos have had the same sweaty palms and nervous twitches (and probably strange looks from the airport security guards!).

You wouldn't believe it looking through these pictures but in the run up to the wedding there was storms left right and centre. Luckily on the day the clouds disappeared and Michelle and David were blessed with a mini-heatwave. Incredibly lucky! The outdoor ceremony was held in the beautiful environs of the walled garden at Tullyveery House. This secluded spot was bathed in sunshine when Michelle and David tied the knot on front of their family and friends.

Both Michelle and her pretty in blue bridesmaids got their dresses at Naomi Bridal Boutique. Accessories were kept simple and classic as was the girls hair and makeup for the day.

Tullyveery was picked by Michelle and David for its countryside setting, and the fact that they could have the run of the house and ground for the day. The choice paid off beautifully for their portraits complete with Tullyveery's super picturesque swing...

For the reception Michelle and David didn't want to have anything to stress over, yet wanted everyone to have fun and for it look pretty too. The main aim being they wanted it to be a wedding people enjoyed. This is where a planner or stylist is a fantastic option. Michelle and David opted for Blue Moon, who kept things soft and pretty yet stylish. Perfect for such a sunny summers day wedding.

Embracing the good weather Michelle and David stayed outdoors as long as possible with drinks and canapés and even an old fashioned ice-cream cart for the kids and big kids alike.

Going for something a little different Michelle and David decided against a traditional guestbook or fingerprint tree and instead used a Jenga style guestbook with guests writing their names on the different blocks.
