Sophia & Andrew's Love Story:
The couple met in 2016 and got engaged in 2020 during the lockdown with Sophia saying, "he took me for a walk in Kilternan and the rest is history."
It was difficult planning a wedding during the lockdown but the couple didn't give up. "We couldn't view many places and did a lot of zoom tours. We came across Gloster House and fell in love! When we finally saw it in person two months later it was even better and we were so happy," Sophia says.
Sophia's dress was by Caroline Castigliano and out of this world, "I got it in The White Room. The girls there made everything so special and couldn't have been more helpful. We asked for extra lace to make a smaller veil that I wore for the reception with an Aura bow. We also added lace to make cap sleeves."
When it came to flowers, Appassionata transformed their wedding day into the day of their dreams. Sophia says, "I've always been a huge fan of how Ruth and her team make everything they touch romantic and effortless."
Sophia had family helping with the cake and wedding favours too which added a special element to their day. "My Aunty Laura made the cake and had brought it in a few different boxes from London. She's so talented and I knew when we were planning the wedding she was the only woman for it."
Her cousin Emilie made the favours that were on everyone's place setting. "She has a company in London called The Edible Message and it was a beautiful personal touch for everyone to have."
"We had The Dublin String Quartet playing for our ceremony and drinks reception! My Maid of honour Jenny and my cousin Jane sang together, it was so beautiful. And my Cousin Paddy sang one of my favourite songs with his guitar. I loved how family members and friends were involved, it made it so personal."
When it came to the videography, the couple loved the result of their wedding film and Sophia confesses she watches it regularly. "Gerry from Limelight was incredible! He captured our day so perfectly and I watch our video at least once a day," she tells us.
"My bridesmaids wore one of my favourite designer's Kalita. I gave them an initial earring and clip for their hair by Simone Rocha. They were all so beautiful. Andrew's suit was custom made by Louis Copeland. He absolutely loved working with them. Bond brothers supplied tuxes for the groomsmen. The boys were delighted with how they looked on the day."
