Menus on Window or Picture Frames

Starting simple with a wedding menu on glass, there are two items you could use: a single frame from a window or cabinet, or an old picture frame with the glass secured but the backing removed. For the rustic or vintage look you may need to scour salvage yards, flea markets and car boot sales. Though charity shops often have old frames, or Ebay or Donedeal are always good bets for random items.

Please be Seated: Window Panes & Table Plans

If you've found yourself a stock of old or extra large windows, and you're feeling really ambitious then you could have your table plan written up on a full window. Though it is definitely worth assigning this wedding DIY project to someone else, as last minute changes to the table plan (there are always people who don't turn up) will necessitate someone having to write it the night before or the morning of the wedding. And that shouldn't be the bride!

How to Create Your Very Own...

Writing on glass and mirrors can be done with either a dry ease markers, a sharpie or plain marker, or  special wax crayons. Dry ease markers come off with wet wipe while wax and Sharpies are tougher to get off. So beware if you're going to be using any family heirlooms or beloved mirrors from home.

Top Tip: Choose a great font, print out exactly how you want the writing to look, then tape the paper to the back of the window, grab your glass marker or Sharpie and trace over it. If you don't fancy handwriting your menu or table plan simply print on nice paper and attach to the frame.

So there you have it, hopefully a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing and the weekend wedding shopping/salvaging started...
