A Room Full of Love: Jerkole & Hugo's Glamorous Wedding

Statement centrepieces and fabulous style

Today's real wedding is so full of love and joy - as the bride tells us, it was palpable in the room. And it's palpable in the photos too, by Miracle Moments Photography. Jerkole & Hugo had an unlikely online romance, but it's clear this pair are meant to be. And their wedding at Grove House in Roehampton is a sight to behold. Look out for ultra glamorous style, bold statements (the palm leaf centrepieces are inspired!), emotional speeches and some pretty killer dance moves!

These two are too cute!

We’ve featured lots of Tinder love stories, and had Facebook friendships that blossomed into romance, but Jerkole & Hugo’s story has to be a first, “We actually met on Instagram nearly five not-so-long years ago!” Jerkole tells us. “A friend at the time posted a picture of the both of us on her Instagram page and Hugo was following her which led to him following me as she tagged me in the photo.”

What a babe!

Then began a back and forth courtship of likes and emojis! “I received a few likes on my pictures from Hugo and I returned the gesture – I actually did like the photos he posted!” Jerkole explains, “Then it was tit for tat for a bit and then he commented with a ring emoji! A bit forward don’t you think (My reaction). Back then there was no Insta DM so everything was written for the world to see under your picture.” We’d almost forgotten there was a time before DMs!

Then they started messaging, “I had Kik Messenger at the time so he downloaded it to speak to me, as I didn’t want to give my number just yet. That probably lasted a few days until I gave him my number and we eventually met up. From then on I knew he was the one… if only lol! But what I did know was that I really did like him a lot.”

Hugo popped the question on Jerkole’s 20th birthday, “I had a large birthday dinner with friends and family. He hadn’t gotten me a birthday present so I questioned and asked “Are you proposing to me today?” he replied firmly with a “No”. I was super gutted!”

Little did Jerkole know what Hugo was planning, “I was doing my speech thanking everyone for coming and he started walking towards me… I was so confused. He then got on one knee and proposed to me!”

For Jerkole, the ceremony was always going to be the most important element, “My priority was to get down the aisle! The marriage was important to me. We were once two but now joined together in holy matrimony, becoming one.”

Jerkole tells us about the atmosphere on her big day, “The morning was very calm, until the last hour! I started getting all sorts of butterflies in my stomach. The overall day was beautiful, full of LOVE! You could feel it all around!”

Jerkole has a great planning tip for other couples, “A timeline helps, as this indicates the greens (good to gos), the yellows (still needs finalising) and the reds (immediate action required).” Now that’s one organised bride!

The couple also say it’s important to take mental snapshots throughout the day, “Enjoy your day from the moment you wake up, soak it all in. It goes by ever so quickly!”

Love these bridesmaids' style, that navy ruffled jumpsuit is just incredible!

The couple fell in love with the grounds at The Grove House, “The beautiful greenery and the venue is so beautiful. There was loads of parking on site that is a very big plus! The Grove House team were incredible.”

These giant palms, so simple but they make such a statement!

There were a lot of highlights for the bride and groom throughout the day, “Seeing both families under one roof, laughing, smiling, and enjoying themselves. Dancing away with no cares in the world,” recalls Jerkole, “As I mentioned before the love we both felt was immense. Oh how can I forget and the speeches, they made Hugo and I cry a few times.”

Jerkole & Hugo’s wedding cake had a personalised touch, “The wedding cake and white chocolate chip cookies were from my lovely aunty Colette.” The invitations were made by her aunty Sharon too - talented family!

he couple loved their honeymoon so much, they’re going back! We went to Dubai for our honeymoon which was awesome, we are going back there for our one year anniversary this year.

That looks like one of those parties that went on into the night! Thanks so much to Jerkole & Hugo for sharing your day with us, and of course to Miracle Moments Photography for capturing it.
