Happy January everyone and a big warm welcome to all our newly engaged readers! We are kicking the weekend off with a pretty colour palette, a golden wedding dream to banish the winter. A new year means embracing fresh and fabulous new ideas for the Spring and Summer. Today's wedding colour palette is a bit of a glam one, with shades of gilded gold, vintage cream and a hint of natural green, inspired by the classic opulence of Dutch Masters' paintings. Old worlde glamour for a modern wedding...
How to Create this Look: Glamour Gold Wedding inspired by Dutch Masters
The colours in this palette are muted, centring on a core "old gold" so creating this look is all about texture and that feeling of luxury. Luscious fabrics like silk and velvet are essential - using velvet ribbons on the bouquet, adding them to table centrepieces and in bridesmaid accessories. Style the wedding reception with features that could have been pulled straight out of a painting by one of the Dutch masters: dining tables should overflowing with flowers and fruit, tall gold candlesticks, gold chairs and of course beautiful stationery to bring it all together. This look is subtle and fine rather, the devil is in the details when creating this sort of glamorous gold wedding, but it's definitely worth it!
