Not your average marquee wedding at home, Ed and Susie pulled out all the stops for their glam wedding at Ed's family home. Ed and Susie originally met through work. On their first date Ed organised an entire day of activities, Susie remembers..."Ed had organised a whole day of activities, from meeting for lunch at Borough Market to finishing with dinner at Polpo and then onto the Comedy Club in Balham. We met at 1 for lunch and left each other at 1am in the morning."

Inseparable ever since Ed proposed to Susie on holiday in Mauritius. Susie remembers the moment..."He had been planning it for 6 months. On our first night in Mauritius we had been out for a lovely dinner at the resort’s (Constance Belle Mar Plage) beach-side restaurant and slowly strolled back to our room. When we got back we were relaxing and then Ed decided to get into his dressing gown. I followed shortly but while I was doing this Ed positioned himself on one knee in the bedroom. What he failed to realise was there was a huge mirror in the bathroom, which meant if I had looked into it I would have seen him, therefore he proceeded to dive and crawl around to the bathroom. I then turned around and he was down on one knee….I of course said YES!!"

Ed and Susie choose Ed's beautiful family home to host their reception. Susie tells us..."It was unique to us; it was where Ed grew up all his life. It was home and an idyllic setting between the pond and the river."

Susie and Ed organised a lavish marquee within the grounds with chic white linens, lots of flowers and lots of wine and good food for guests to enjoy.

Susie tells us what the made the wedding extra special for them..."We wanted to make sure the wedding was as personal to us as possible, ensuring there was a personal touch on everything for example; having a wine theme throughout the reception because of the Ed’s passion and job, to bringing a bit of the my upbringing into the food in the form of mini fish and chips and mini toad in the holes."

To complete their magical wedding at home Ed and Susie both gave speeches before retreating to the outdoor bonfire. Susie fondly remembers..."The bonfire element in the evening was magical it was a stunning setting but more than anything it was amazing to see everyone talking to each other around it and the kids running around making smores. Also, not just on the day but the lead up was so special with all our family and bridal party pitching in to help set up the venue and go out of their way to make the day special for us from hoovering the marquee floor to setting up table places - the best friends we could ever have."
