When a creative pair wed, you know they are going to pull out all the stops. That's exactly what Phil and Ashley (Phil is a graphic designer and Ashley a make up artist) when they gathered everyone together for their wedding at Cloughjordan House - they certainly made an occasion no guest would easily forget. They kept things relaxed and unique to them with a bespoke wedding dress from Irish designer Rebecca Kenny, handmade wooden invitations (made by groom Phil) and a reggae band to keep everyone dancing into the wee hours, which was all captured by the wonderful Big Day Films...
As a make up artist Ashley has spent lots of time in various venues perfecting bride's makeup, so for her own wedding she wanted an extra special and thoroughly relaxed venue - plus it needed to be somewhere where their dog Mylo could attend too. When Phil and Ashley laid eyes on the picturesque Cloughjordan House they just knew it was the one. They explain how it all happened:
"Cloughjordan house was only the second venue that we viewed and both of us knew instantly that it would be the place for us..we met with Sarah Baker and again loved her straight away..she was so warm and made us feel at home from the start. We then met Peter Baker along the way and Colleen their chef and wedding coordinator and all of them were so lovely and accommodating so we booked for the following May 15th."
Next up on the must haves for the wedding was a videographer that would blend into the background and capture camera shy Phil and Ashley effortlessly. Luckily they happened upon Big Day Films, They tell us: "We met with Richy and Emma about two weeks before our wedding to discuss what would be happening with our video - they suggested coming out to Howth and filming us getting ready for the wedding which at first we were a bit hesitant about as we don't even like getting our photo taken but it was such a great idea. Richy is amazing and so easy to be around and we absolutely LOVE looking back on it now."
A huge congratulations to you both and thank so much for sharing your effortless wedding day with us all. A big thank you also goes to Big Day Films for sharing their work with us, to see more from Big Day Films visit www.bigdayfilms.ie
