Now, this might sound strange but fruit has quickly become this year's BIG wedding trend. Believe it or not, fruit has been popping up in wedding bouquets, on wedding cakes and in wedding decorations. It might sound a little odd, but once you've seen what we've gathered together I'm sure you'll agree it looks gorgeous. Wedding Cake with Fruit Decoration Ideas
This is a contemporary twist on the traditional fruit wedding cake. Regular or sugared fruit can be used to decorate any style of wedding cake, from classic tiered to dessert table cakes. Fruit adds a romantic rustic edge, and is a lot more budget friendly than flower cake decoration or the traditional wedding cake topper.
Fruit Wedding Bouquets
Initially, I wasn't sold on the idea of fruit in a wedding bouquet, but done right a touch of fruit adds a beautiful autumnal vibe to wedding flowers. If you do decide to have a fruit wedding bouquet be careful not to go OTT as these can get quite heavy, and stay away from berry bouquets to avoid staining your wedding dress.
Fruit Place Name Wedding Decoration Ideas
Perhaps my favourite fruity wedding trend...treat guests to a bright and light surprise with fruit wedding place names. Choose a fruit to match your wedding colour palette and simply add a card. More robust fruits will again work better, with the most popular options being apples, pears and peaches.
Fruit Wedding Favours & Treats
Fruit can also be used as a relatively cheap and cheerful wedding favour. These are best handed out post ceremony as a pre dinner snack and can be spruced by popping them in cute little paper bags, baskets or little boxes.
Fruit Table & Chair Wedding Decoration Ideas
Last but not least, fruit can be used as a flower replacement or enhancement to decorate your tables and chairs. Add fruit to flower arrangements or place in bowls or rustic crates as unique table centrepieces.
