Our real wedding couple Ciara and Colin exchanged vows in a beautiful church ceremony followed by a dreamy celebration in the surrounds of Fota Island Resort, Co. Cork . Featuring a vibrant, greenery filled photoshoot, our Australia-based couple flew back home to Ireland for their fun-filled bash. Before diving into the details of their beautiful spring wedding day in April, let's get to know the happy couple! Originally hailing from Tipperary, Perth-based Ciara and Colin's paths crossed at a friend's house party. Fast forward to their sweet proposal: "We were staying at Crown Towers Perth for Ciara’s birthday when Colin proposed. It was very special."

Part of the team behind bridal brand Essense of Australia, glowing bride Ciara chose a phenomenal embellished gown from the Martina Liana collection paired with fabulous pearl beaded heels and sheer bridal jacket with the most beautiful embellishment. This pairing added effortless, soft drama to her daytime look, but could be taken off for a more streamlined look for dancing.

Planning their celebration from across the globe: "It sounds cliché, but it really was an unforgettable day. From the very beginning to the end, we were on cloud nine. Living away from home it was important for us to have a traditional Irish wedding, with lots of lively dancing, good music and fun."

Following a beautiful ceremony in St. Mary's Church in their hometown of Clonmel, the pair travelled to Cork for their spectacular reception at Fota Island Resort.

In terms of what made the idyllic venue 'the one': "We valued having a venue that provided a wedding planner with good communication and an easy going attitude. Every request we made was handled seamlessly and without any unnecessary complications. A few years prior, we had attended a wedding at Fota, where we always remembered how good the food was and the exceptional service. The recent renovations to the ballroom were also a bonus as I loved the décor and colours."

Talk about a fairytale setting for wedding portraits! Making full use of the bright, sunshine-filled day the results of the pair's photoshoot on the grounds of Fota Island Resort are simply spectacular!

Ciara and Colin had this advice for couple's planning their own wedding celebrations: "Stay true to what matters to you as a couple and resist the temptation to be swayed by what everyone else is doing or what others think you should do. I would also want to tell couples that the effort and cost invested in it are truly worthwhile. The high you experience is hard to describe, and even though there were moments during the planning when we doubted we’d say this, we would wholeheartedly do it all over again."

Celebrating their nuptials alongside 234 guests, the couple's fun-filled evening went on to include an exciting preformance by a drumming troupe and a gold foil adorned buttercream wedding cake: "Before the pendemic I was completely focused on the aesthetics, but it taught me that the aesthetics weren’t the be-all and end-all of what the wedding meant to us. I adore my style, so it was essential that everyone looked fantastic, and I always had a clear vision of my colour palettes. However, I came to the realisation that it wasn’t all about having the most picture perfect everything; the most important aspect was ensuring quality, a hassle-free experience where everyone could relax, let their hair down and enjoy a good party."

As their well deserved honeymoon, the newlyweds stopped in Dubai and Singapore for a relaxing trip on their way back to Australia: "I highly recommend this for couples travelling back to Australia, as it eased the effects of jet lag and made leaving Ireland a little easier."
