Lighting up our screens today with the happiest of smiles, is the beautiful chic wedding of Brian and Emma. The couple who just could not wait for a second more to seal their love, celebrated at Dublin's City Hall last August. Captured by the talented Olga Hogan Photography, this intimate city-soirée is bursting with love, tributes to their adorable doggies, and our favourite details - Emma's show-stopping yellow bridal shoes. Rays of sunshine all around, let's check it out!
After meeting through work, Emma and Brian started out as best friends. One her first day, Emma decided she liked the look of Brian and went out of her way to introduce herself. Brian continued to charm his now-wife with his sense of humour, caring ways, and most importantly - his love of dogs. Brian having three dogs and Emma who is a dog-mom to a 'stubborn' pug, had 'a wild household from day one!'
Fast forward, and Brian skillfully plans a romantic trip to Paris, jam-packed with all the five-star sights, before pulling off a proposal that was described as 'out of this world!' An evening meal in the iconic Eiffel Tower set the scene for Brian to pop the big question. "Following our meal we were enjoying the Parisian skyline from above when Brian reminded me of the part I played with my dad when proposing to my mother," said Emma. "That took my breath away that Brian had gone to such loving, meaningful, and inclusive lengths to make my parents part of our journey. It certainly had us on cloud nine in many ways."
A memorial candle, flowers, and photos were placed on the ceremony table to remember and include Brian’s parents in their ceremony. An important and sentimental touch.
The newlyweds chose Dublin City Hall due to its spectacular setting. The unique and historic venue was sprinkled with ivory and sage florals and perfectly suited for their intimate and personal celebration, which saw them surrounded by music from a string quartet and 16 of their nearest and dearest. The couple opted for a sand ceremony, symbolising how the sand can never be separated, just like the couple's marriage – forever combined.
Brian's elegant tweed suit is paired effortlessly with a antique gold tie and matching pocket fold, that capture the tones in the jacket pattern creating depth and definition.
Emma's style is simply breathtaking. A sublime Suzanne Neville number, with classic satin long sleeves and an A-line skirt. She finished the look with a Sophie et Viola headpiece and the most gasp-worthy pair of yellow Manolo Blahniks who cheekily peep out for attention with every stride.
Emma and Brian describe what made their day so special: "The most important element to us was to cement our love for each other in getting married sooner than later, why wait? If a global pandemic has thought us anything, it’s to seize the day and each other!" Ensuring everyone was looked after and that there was nothing they needed or wanted to be followed suit. "We wanted to spread the love for our carefully selected venues with our families and hopefully for them to enjoy them as much as we do," they said.
The dazzling wedding bands from Voltaire Diamonds sparkled as the couple made their way through Dublin City hand-in-hand.
The Merrion Hotel holds a special place in their hearts as it was the first hotel they ever stayed in as a couple. The Ivy restaurant hosted the intimate city-soiree of 16 guests in the eclectic and unique private dining room. "We’ve always enjoyed our dining experiences in the Ivy. The quality of the food, delicious drinks, exceptional staff, and service lent itself to our fun-filled, city wedding," said Emma.
Ukebox, a ukulele trio made up of three of Ireland's most reputable musicians welcomed the guests into the dining room.
Pardon the pun, but topping of this joyful-filled day was the doggy cake topper - Charlie, Lola, and Coco. This personal addition was the sweetest nod to their fur babies.
Emma and Brian's words of advice are to invest in your wedding album from your photographer, a priceless cost to relive your day and keep forever.
