A little wedding dress dreaming for you this weekend as we bring you the Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture Collection from Paris Fashion Week. This gorgeous art-inspired collection featured gowns in a palette of pastel colours such as soft pink, hydrangea blue and lovely lilac reminiscent of an evening sky. The designer also sent gowns in bolder shades down the runway in shades of golden-yellow, radiant red and black. There were also an array of beautiful ombré, almost painterly like print gowns that shaded from black to white with bright and beautiful blooms in between. Our favourite part of the collection? The stunning gowns in shades of white, blush and champagne - simply perfect for a bride who dreams in couture...
For this stunning collection designer Elie Saab took inspiration from the work of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. The 19th century Dutch painter who is known for the way in which he features flowers and textures and for his soft colour palettes.
Elie Saab's signature floral embroideries and appliqués all featured, this time even more beautiful than before. Dresses dripped in divine beading and appliquéd crystals ran over the organza and tulle fabrics.
Amidst the heavily embellished numbers were some gorgeous gossamer-light pleated goddess gowns in strapless, plunge-front and one-shouldered silhouettes.
Like all of Elie Saab's wonderful creations, the silhouettes in this Spring were all suitably feminine, with an emphasis on the waist achieved perfectly with a dropped empire line, flowing drapery and a skinny belt.
