Inspired by the romance and literature of the Elizabethan era, today's classic gold wedding inspiration is a must see for you romantics. Incorporating dreamy wedding dresses, Shakespeare inspired stationery and inspiring table displays this has to be one of my favourite wedding inspiration shoots to date. As photographer Paula O'Hara gushes, "I love how the colours of the venue, the golds and reds and warmth of the era were incorporated in the flowers, table displays, gowns and makeup. Irish styling teams at their best!" We couldn't agree more...
Photographer and stylist on the day, Paula O'Hara explains the ethos behind the shoot..."This bridal session was created and inspired by the Elizabethan period and we really wanted to capture the essence of ornate, elaborate Elizabethan style which so complimented the historic location - Smock Alley Theatre. Because of the theatrical venue we chose some Shakespearean quotes and themes of love to add to the drama."
These romantic quotes were dotted around the venue, acting as table names and place settings. A very elegant idea, that would work well at any glamorous or classic wedding. Paula describes how the stationery was created..."Four Hats Press created a stationery set in handwritten calligraphy which was key to the theme - that essence of passionate romantic literature. The fiery spirit of pen and ink and unrequited love set on handmade paper."
To compliment this style a sumptuous table of florals and food, typical of the decadent era was created by Ann Marie O’Leary and Smyth and Barry. Simply gorgeous...
Lastly Myrtle Ivory and Sharon Hoey provided the gorgeous wedding dresses - dripping in elegant gold embellishment.
