If there ever was a case for tearing up the rule book, it's the gorgeous couple in today's real wedding! Irish bride Aisling and Argentinian groom Javier set out to have a non-traditional wedding and that's exactly what they got at Durhamstown Castle, complete with woodland portrait session, dreamy dried flowers and one of the most heart-warming outdoor ceremonies we've ever seen! Luckily for us, Rafal Borek Photography was there to capture every last detail...
Aisling and Javier traded fresh flowers for dried lavender on their big day, making for an effortlessly chic bouquet and some delightfully rustic dining space décor!
How beautiful is Aisling's sequined Rachel Gilbert gown? It makes us want to immediately don something slinky and sparkly!
This lovely pair met in New Zealand and became instant friends, but it took a while for them to kickstart a romance. "When we did, we knew we had something special," Aisling tells us. "We have travelled all over the world with each other, and hope to continue discovering new places and enjoy new adventures together."
When it came time to plan the wedding, Aisling and Javier searched high and low for the perfect spot in which to bring their two families together! "Our family and friends had never met," Aisling remembers, "so our main priority was to find a venue that could fit all of our immediate family under one roof and enjoy the events of the weekend together."
They couldn't resist the folksy charm of Durhamstown Castle in Co. Meath. "It fitted in so well with our idea of a relaxed, rustic, non-traditional wedding. The venue was a beautiful backdrop to the weekend celebrations."
What a magical ceremony space! It looks like Aisling can't wait to get to get to the top of that aisle!
And Javier can't wait for her to get there, either!
During the ceremony, Javier presented Aisling with the coordinates of a star named after them both! Don't mind me, these are allergy tears, I swear!
In the end, Aisling and Javier were absolutely chuffed with how their wedding day turned out. "We celebrated for three days and created wonderful moments that we will remember forever."
"The vibe was chilled and relaxed," Aisling adds. "Having all of our family and friends together was amazing."
Aisling's advice for brides and grooms is pretty simple, but it's something that all engaged couples need to hear; "Relax, don’t get caught up in the small stuff." If only it was as easily done as said!
A selfie with your besties is a wedding-day must!
We love how the couple carried the dried lavender theme through to their tablescape and cake! The Great Barn at Durhamstown Castle must have smelled incredible!
After the wedding, Aisling and Javier headed off to Paris for a short break. "It was cliché but nonetheless amazing!" Aisling says.
Now doesn't that look like a perfect wedding day? Thanks so much to Aisling and Javier for letting us peek inside their Durhamstown Castle bash, and, of course, to Rafal Borek for sharing the beautiful images with us!
