Today's real wedding is sweet, simple, and a showcase of how to do things your own way. Emma and Deirdre, from Tullamore, Co. Offaly, and Castleconnell, Co. Limerick respectively, now live in Dublin, and chose to stay in their hometown for their laid-back city wedding. Starting off their day with vows at City Hall, the couple stopped for a drink nearby before moving on to The Gibson Hotel for a reception with their closest friends and family. Capturing all the love from the ceremony, was Kathy Silke Photography, scroll down to see why we're loving this couple's style!
Emma and Deirdre first crossed paths in college, “We met in Limerick School of Art and Design through friends. We had our first kiss in Costello’s.”
The brides asked their guests to bless their rings with good vibes - this is such a nice idea for involving your guests in your ceremony.
The couple had a clear and simple vision for their wedding, “We just wanted to have a big party with people we loved, and that was exactly what we did.”
This pair have one single nugget of advice for other couples, “Do it your way!”
The brides each rocked their own unique looks on their wedding day - what a stylish pair!
The couple chose The Gibson Hotel for their post ceremony celebrations, “We loved the hotel anyway, because it was so modern looking, but it was the service that really won us over. We wanted a central location as we were getting married in City Hall, and we wanted somewhere where the guests could get to easily.”
The couple say they visited a few places, but loved that The Gibson were upfront about their pricing, “Everywhere seemed to have hidden extras in there costs, like a late bar application fee, or food plus room hire fee, we really appreciated that they didn’t, and we really trusted them. Everything was really perfect for us on the day, and we could just relax and enjoy ourselves.”
Having a city wedding meant the couple could be flexible in the structure of their day, “It started raining just as we left City Hall, so we went over for a quick drink in the Oak Bar after the ceremony, and that was really nice, as it was unplanned.”
