Today's destination wedding in Mallorca is like a dream. Organised by Petal & Twine, Melissa and David's "Primavera Romance" is oozing effortless character, style and charm and is all captured by the lovely White Cat Studio. As bride Melissa told us..."This was a very intimate and elegant wedding held in sunny Soller at Campoma Finca sitting right in the middle of wild and romantic surroundings of Serra de Tramuntana mountains." Sounds pretty idyllic to me, let's take a look...
David and Melissa first met while they studying in Washington DC. David tells us how they ended up falling in love..."She is the love of my life. When I first met Melissa I thought she was out of my league, but I'm a guy that likes to take risks, so I did, I approached her and soon realised that she is very down to earth, easy to talk to and also seemed to like my sense of humour, that's great I thought to myself and almost instantly knew from the very first moment I laid my eyes on her that this was the girl I would one day marry. I'm a man of word, I am half German and half American, so I guess my charming and persuasive personality won over Melissa's heart. After a few years of dating we welcomed our beautiful son Graham to the world, since then we have been living quite a busy lifestyle, yet we both share the same passion for traveling. Speaking of traveling, the first time we came to Mallorca we fell in love with the beautiful island and I came up with this sneaky plan that we should get married here and we just did that."
Melissa remember back to the day when David proposed..."I always remember the day that David proposed to me I just thought it was so romantic and so sweet of him. I was working as a nurse that time and normally I would work very long shifts, it was the end of a very long and stressful week all I could think of was how to arrive home as quick as I possibly could. When I finally reached my house door and opened it I saw thousands of roses, well actually 22 dozen roses spelled out "will you marry me?" 22 is our lucky number how could I say no!"
Haven fallen in love with Mallorca Melissa and David chose to marry in the sun with their adorable boy, two equally fabulous wedding dresses and the help of wedding planner Petal & Twine.
Melissa describes the day..."Colours played a huge part, fresh and bright pastel tones with a hint of gold and buttercup yellow dominating in the palette naturally blended in within the local flora. A special thanks to Petal and Twine Wedding Planning company and a team for making our dreams reality and finding this amazing venue. Their styling and planning skills seemed almost effortless, we would have not been able to accomplish it on our own. They also had great wedding packages to choose from, amazing photographer, wedding dresses, cakes and more."
Melissa and David opted for a mini first look to calm any last minute wedding nerves! Melissa didn't ruin the surprise for her wedding gown though, instead she choose to wear a short mini dress in white. A great idea for those who are thinking of a first look but don't want to miss their grooms reaction when walking up the aisle in their gown!
Melissa continues..."I think that finding the right venue and creating a theme of the day are the main pieces of the wedding puzzle that every bride must focus on while planning their big day. We could not be more proud of our son Graham who joined us at the wedding, assisting throughout the whole ceremony and being there by our side, the cutest and funniest guest of the day. He said to his uncle "I lost the count how many times my mum and dad kissed". Having my son at my wedding it made it even more special"! Love, romance and emotion those were the moments felt on our memorable wedding day!"
Reflecting the Mediterranean lifestyle, the vibe at Melissa and David's wedding was all very chilled and relaxed, with each moment captured by Irish photographer White Cat Studio.
The intimate wedding meal was held on the terrace, surrounded by mature Mediterranean gardens and complemented by dreamy pink calligraphy menus and lots of bubbly. Simply idyllic.
A huge congratulations to you both and thanks so much for sharing your destination wedding with us all. A big thank you also goes to White Cat Studio for sharing her work with us. To see more from White Cat Studio visit www.whitecatstudio.ie
