A truly cosmopolitan pair, Irish bride Louisa and French groom Cedric met in Geneva, before moving to New York where they now both happily live. To celebrate their love Louisa and Cedric planned their real wedding all the way from NY in just six and a half months. Gathering friends and family from over 20 countries in Borris House this real wedding by Leanne Keaney radiates an extra special vibe...
Â
Chic couple Louise and Cedric first met while living and working abroad in Switzerland. Louise remembers with characteristic Irish sarcasm..."We met whilst both working in Geneva, Switzerland and locked eyes at a lakeside party over a few glasses of rosé. With a fantastic sense of timing, we got together a few months before Cedric moved to New York. After almost a year of many Skype calls and plane tickets, I got a job in the Big Apple too and that's where we're both now based."
 Â
Smitten, Cedric proposed whilst on holiday in Jamaica. Louisa tells us the details..."Cedric surprised me with a boat trip where he proposed as the sun was setting in a quiet cove. He was nervous and I was sea-sick, it was perfectly imperfect!"
Now based in New York Cedric and Louisa returned to Ireland to celebrate their wedding with friends and family from across the world. Louisa's childhood choir performed at the ceremony, while a close family friend Fr Abe Kennedy officiated.Fr Abe then drove the happy couple to the nearby Osborne's Rathanna for post-vow pints.
Daring bride Louisa chose to wear an impeccable wedding jumpsuit complete with a billowing train and flattering bow detail. To complete this alternative look Louise opted for a bold pink lip and nude Dior stilettos. Utterly unique and so well suited to Louisa's style.
Louisa describes the vibe she and Cedric were going for..."A big party with a blend of French and Irish traditions. We wanted a day full of personal touches but with a laid back atmosphere for all the most important people in our lives. A weekend of good craic! The whole wedding was organised from New York in 6 and a half months! "
After ample Guinness and portraits with the lovely Leanne Keaney the wedding party continued the party at the epic Borris House. Louisa gushes..."Borris House is such a stunning venue so full of history. Sara, Morgan and Mike made us feel it was really our own for the weekend and were great help and support in organising. The fact that we were able to host a welcome hog roast with trad music the night before the wedding was also important."
Embracing both Irish and French cultures Louisa and Cedric treated guests to a blend of French and Irish food, Tipperary cider, French wine and a sing song until dawn around the piano led by Louisa's step-brother Bill.
A huge congratulations to you both, and thanks so much for sharing your wedding day with us all. A big thank you also goes to Leanne Keaney for sharing her work with us. To see more from Leanne Keaney visit www.leannekeaney.ie
