Coral - Hot for 2010 Bridesmaids & Wedding Guests Alike

I have definitely found that specific requests for help from my friends provide the most interesting ideas for posts. This time  it's the turn of a bridesmaid (who shall remain nameless) who had to find a coral coloured dress for an upcoming wedding. Having scoured every shop in town, she asked me if I'd spotted anything in my research for OneFabDay.

Short answer: I had. Coral is everywhere. It has been a very hot colour this summer, so I was able to find her lots of options (about 40 altogether), here are some of the best. Some of them aren't really very bridesmaid(y) so this selection could work well for those looking for a bridesmaid look or a hot coral wedding guest dress...

A strong coral dress works brilliant with contrasting accessories....

Ted Baker is always a great choice for wedding or party dresses, I actually have this embellished dress in olive, it's super comfy and on sale (€87!). Another great high street option is Reiss - a little more expensive but definitely worth it for special occasions. This tulip skirted dress has a lovely neckline, and would be a lovely elegant yet strong choice for bridesmaids. Nanette Lepore is available from Nordstroms (if the model seems familiar it's cos she's Allie from The City) Reiss strikes again with a simple shift dress - which would welcome real statement  accessories - a large contrasting or multicoloured necklace, beads or a bib style would be striking together with great contrast shoes. Another interesting shift dress, this time from My Theresa - satin with a really lovely scalloped hem is on sale currently (€389).

Mid-season sales mean it's the perfect time to buy a special dress

The sale rail has never been more packed with goodies - this Susanna Monaco dress is cuteness itself, but is really made for a very slim lady, as those ruffles might be hard to carry off with too large a bust. DKNY is a favourite label of mine, this simple t-shirt style with roses is elegant but not too formal, unfortunately none too cheap either ($325). These ruffles on McQ's pink number are made for dancing the night away at the reception - and it's on sale too (€225). Another sale bargain is this strapless satin Guzel dress from Ted Baker is on sale (50% off) for €87.

Bridesmaids (and their dresses) come in all shapes, sizes and styles...

A truly classic bridesmaid dress from Calvin Klein, but the flattering style would work well as a guest dress or party dress, which I think is a must for any bridesmaid dress - you have to be able to get more than one wear out of it. Monsoon sale starts today - unfortunately this Athena dress isn't reduced yet but it's pretty and summery and at €100 is a nice buy. Asos have a selection of light voile strapless bubble hem dresses in lots of colours, here's the coral version and it's a bargain at only €45!

For those yummy mummies-to-be, this flowing front-tie maternity dress from Maternal America (€50) is hot! And the final word goes to Alice Temperley who designs the most amazing light yet superbly detailed dresses - this coral one shouldered short dress is a bargain currently on Net-a-Porter
