New Year, New Husband & Wife. Beccy and Travis celebrated the New Year with a marriage celebration surrounded by their nearest and dearest. They said I do in a magical outdoor ceremony and celebrated the night away at Coombe Yarra Valley, which gave them the rustic yet classic vibe they were looking for. Heart and Colour Photography was able to capture every moment that the couple and guests shared. Let’s take a look...
Beccy fills us in on the first time her and Travis met…”We actually met years before we started dating through mutual friends out one night. We had a lengthy good old chat about horses as I ride and Travis’s little sister also rides. We were both seeing other people and thought nothing of it but then bumped into each other years later out again (both single) and it all happened from there...”
Look at this adorable Dad reaction! That's definitely one for the album.
Beccy looks beyond gorgeous in her gown from One Day Bridal paired with a cream and greenery bouquet by Sugar Bee Flowers. Her flawless makeup and hair were by Jade K Makeup and Joey Scandizzo Salon.
Back to the proposal story and we find out after forgetting it was a public holiday and being overtook by nerves, Travis powered through and finally mustered up the courage to propose at Beccy’s favorite restaurant. Beccy fills us in on the memorable day…”Poor Travis took me to my favourite winery for lunch… unfortunately forgetting it was a public holiday. The place was packed and he couldn't work up the courage to do it so he took me to our favourite restaurant as well that night (even though I heavily insisted that I was very full). He didn't get down on one knee (nerves had the better of him) but he did hold both my hands, tell me I was everything to him and asked if I would like to spend the rest of my life with him before presenting the ring. I was quite speechless but managed to spit a yes out.”
What a beautiful ceremony space. Very different to a New Years Eve celebration on this side of the globe!
Beccy and Travis decided to have the wedding their own way. Throughout the planning process they agreed on everything, and enjoyed the outcome of the wedding so much that by the end of the night, both of their faces were hurting from smiling so much!
The bridal party palette of all navy is so striking. The girls wowed in mix-match dresses of the same colour from Zimmerman while the Travis and his guys rocked navy suits with black lapels from Wolf Kanat.
Everything went even better than Beccy and Travis could’ve imagined. Beccy describes the day as being, “Elegant yet relaxed. We got to say our vows in front of those most important to us.” They wanted to make sure they enjoyed every second of the night, which is what they did. They even managed to sneak off after the entree to take the whole day in before dancing the night away with their loved ones. It was New Years eve and the perfect way to bring in the new year.
One special part of their wedding day that Beccy and Travis really loved was that both of their fathers spoke at the reception . Beccy says that, “Even though it was traditional, it was incredibly important to us.”
How stunning is this reception space at Coombe Yarra Valley? The rustic meets industrial vibe is so on trend. We love how the couple let the space shine with a simple palette of cream blooms and lots of gorgeous greenery.
Beccy and Travis leave us with a couple key words of advice…”1. Wear a suit/dress thats comfortable! 2. Make sure you both have input as I feel it makes it all the more special when it comes together. 3. Don’t spend your house deposit! It doesn't need to be big or fancy. It’s your favourite people watching you marry the love of your life and best friend. At the end of the day that’s all that matters. 4. Also, make sure you and your partner stop at once together and take it all in. It really is a special moment.”
This crumb coat cake looks INCREDIBLE!
The couple fill us in on their honeymoon plans..."We took off to Hawaii for a few days. We both love Honolulu.. the beach is beautiful for relaxing but there is also so much to do and we love holiday activities."
Huge congrats to you both, and thanks so much for sharing your wedding day with us all. A big thank you also goes to Heart and Colour Photography for sharing their work with us. To see more from Heart and Colour visit www.heartandcolour.com
