Styled With Pride: A Pastel and Punchy-Hued Bridal Shoot in Portugal

Two incredible colour themes in one gorgeous wedding editorial!

Choosing a wedding theme is such an exciting element of wedding planning and we have a sensational inspirational photoshoot just for you. Feather & Fawn Photography joined forces with Portuguese wedding planner My Day By Louise and a heavy roster of talented creatives to deliver this stunning inspirational shoot with two distinct colour themes. The photoshoot aims to inspire members of the LGBTQ+ community to wear their heart on their sleeve, proudly shouting the ethos "love has no gender". Firstly, it delivers picture-perfect inspiration if you're dreaming of a wedding saturated in watercolour-like pastel hues. The second half shines a spotlight on the impact of tablescape styling with bold colours which would be ideal if you're planning a destination wedding and want to leave your guests in awe at the rehearsal dinner.

Anyone looking to get married in Portugal will want to put this elegant country retreat on their wish list. This breathtaking editorial took place at Quinta da Conceição which is near Setubal and half an hour from Lisbon. Stepped in history, and sitting on a peaceful estate of over 50 hectares which encompasses including ancient cork oak forests and olive groves, it is a fairytale backdrop for any wedding celebration.

In the first part of the glamorous and elegant photoshoot, florist Alla Stefanyk brings together a delicate selection of flowers in soft shades of pink, blue and perfect white to create a wonderfully whimsical display. White carnations, blue tweedia and roses are presented in delicate bouquets, a flower crown and in vases which would create a stunning ceremony backdrop.

The bridalwear by Lulus included a romantic off the shoulder gown with diaphanous sleeves and a flowing skirt. An effortlessly elegant jumpsuit is married with a statement bow which is no surprise as the dainty accent is one of the biggest wedding dress trends of 2024. The second wedding look has a monochrome edge with acccessories including black block heels with ruffle straps and statement drop gold and black earrings.

The reception styling included twisted candles held in ornate crystal candleholders, gild-edge plates and cutlery, monogrammed napkins, a tablecloth with a demure print of nature and place names with a delicate foliage print.

Makeup artist and hair stylist Olga Galkin opted for dewy makeup looks with bronzed eye makeup and tousled waves in the hair dos.

White wedding cakes are a true classic and the photoshoot proves how dramatically demure they can be with an incredible creation by Mon Sucré. The four tier cake boasts a sculptural ruffled edge and sugar flowers in the shape of roses.

The second portion of this exquisite summer photoshoot sees bright hues put front and centre. Floral arrangements including bachelors buttons, paperwhite narcissus, daisies and more form a foundation for this sprightly presentation. Retro-style glasses in oceanic shades are an ultimate accessory to toast to your happily ever after.

Model holds a lemon at colourful destination wedding styling shoot

Graphic print plates in a refreshing palette of white and blue lend a Mediterranean vibe which are styled on top of brass textured plates.

The colourful and expressive crockery of Portuguese artist and ceramic designer Bordalo Pinheiro is sure to be a conversation-starter at any celebration. From pumpkin tureens to cabbage teapots, the character-filled accessories added a dash of Portuguese whimsy.

A huge thank you goes to Feather & Fawn and the talented team behind this shoot for sharing the uber-chic colourful destination wedding styling with One Fab Day. Check out the gallery below for even more beautiful details.
