While we love to gush over a cute bridal shoe or doughnut wall, our favourite wedding memories tend to be experiences - giggles during the ceremony or an impromptu conga line! - which is why we've fallen for Bronagh & Tommy's real wedding at Clonwilliam House. Their laid-back bash, captured by Give us a Goo Photography, is classically stylish and gasp-inducingly romantic (wait until you see their movie-worthy portrait session!), but also so much fun!
This lovely pair first locked eyes at the Galway Races where they were introduced by mutual friends, but it wasn't until years later, at another racing event, that they actually got together. "We made our romance official when in Aintree for the Grand National!" Bronagh tells us.
We've heard of making a dramatic entrance, but Bronagh is making a dramatic exit with the killer cut-out on this gorgeous wedding gown!
For the proposal, Tommy kept things simple. "We got engaged on an early-morning coastal walking trail on the grounds of Parknasilla Resort & Spa, overlooking the calm waters of Kenmare Bay on the Ring of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way." It sounds just perfect!
Don't these gals look fab? We're particularly partial to the breezy sprig of baby's breath in the hair!
We have to admit, we get a little bit emotional when see see a Mam walking her daughter down the aisle! And how cool is Bronagh's Mom's trouser suit?
When it came time to plan the wedding, Bronagh and Tommy settled on food, drink and entertainment as their top priorities, but, of course, they started with the venue. "It was an easy decision once we visited Clonwilliam House and met Miriam," Bronagh tells us. "As long as there were beverages and music, we knew our crowd would do the rest!"
The warm and welcoming vibe was another big draw. "The private, personal atmosphere of Clonwilliam House really made it feel like a home. The barn-style function room was exactly what we wanted and of course, the pool and local location to our family homes sealed the deal!"
Bronagh's DIY bouquet! Didn't she do a beautiful job?
Bronagh's advice for engaged couples is to, "try to relax and concentrate on the key elements." She's also a big proponent of having videography on your wedding day. "Not everybody likes the attention of a camera, but Cathal (Farrelly) was very discrete."
To keep spirits high after the ceremony, Bronagh and Tommy hired magician Andy James to do tricks on the guests. "Andy added a special touch to our reception as he entertained all our guests and really relaxed everyone so they could enjoy some bubbles or our Aperol Spritz in the glorious sunshine!"
"It was an amazing day," Bronagh reflects. "It was a very relaxed morning with family, a funny afternoon with Andy’s entertainment, followed by a boozy evening and a night of boogieing!"
It'd be rude not to stop for a cup of tea when the venue is this fancy!
The dining space at Clonwilliam House was decked out in fairylights and florals, and these rustic candlesticks are a nice touch!
Bronagh and Tommy's honeymoon was pretty epic - a multi-stop trip to South Africa, Fiji and the Philippines! - so they decided to save it for January, six months after the wedding. We bet that banished the post-wedding and post-Christmas blues!
Cheers! Thanks so much to Bronagh and Tommy for letting us peer behind the scenes of their gorgeous day, and, of course, to Give Us a Goo, for sharing these dynamite photos with us!
