Happy Wednesday All! Prepare to swoon over the pure elegance of Maz and Jenny's wedding, a day full of family tradition and 1940s style! The couple celebrated in Jenny's family home and took inspiration from her parents lasting love. This Modern Love were on hand to capture all the lovely details of Maz and Jenny's big day, a couple who are the definition of classic and elegant...
Maz and Jenny's classic wedding style was inspired by Jenny's parents and the 1940's era.
We love Jenny's bridal look... "My wedding dress was from The Vintage Wedding Dress Company in London, and was inspired by the 1940’s. The bridesmaid dresses I found in different shops ranging from Valentino to H&M! A lovely lady named Katie Carter made my veil in London. I wanted really soft tulle with a delicate lace trim, what she made was stunning and just what I wanted.
The boys having some fun before the ceremony...
The whole celebration was a day of traditions and family for Jenny and Maz. They were married in the same church where Jenny's parents were married years earlier, the Church of St Michael's and St Mary's in New Ross. They followed the ceremony with a reception at Jenny's childhood home and the couple even made their invitations, just as Jenny's parents had for their own wedding day.
Jenny's choice of a 1940's inspired dress was just one more way of honoring her parents who had shown Jenny and Maz what lasting love looks like.
The flower girls looked so pretty in their embroidered cream dresses and look at those gorgeous bouquets!
Jenny and Maz called on the talents of This Modern Love to capture all the lovely moments of the day. Jenny's family home was surrounded by gorgeous gardens, ideal for the couple to have their intimate photo shoot.
Jenny and Maz are the definition of classic and elegant...
Jenny and Maz held their reception in a marquee in the garden of Jenny's parents home...We wanted it to have a bit of a vintage feel. It was a country wedding, with the reception in the garden. The marquee had bare floorboards, the ceiling was lined with fairy lights and we used lots of flowers from the garden so it had a rustic feel. It was exactly what we had wanted with beautiful light and splashes of colour on the long rectangular tables!
Cheeky chappy...this bridal party knows how to have a bit of fun with the camera!
In keeping with having it at home, Jenny and Maz were really clear on how they wanted their wedding to feel, for them and their guests..."We wanted our wedding to be simple, and we didn't want to be stressed. It’s such a special time and should be enjoyed, rather than worrying about things that don’t matter in the bigger picture. It was also important to have really good food and fun music, so we could dance into the early hours."
Eunice Power (also catered for Naoise's wedding!) catered for the wedding and people are still talking about how delicious the food was. I was also lucky enough to have a talented friend, Hanna who made the cake which was awesome, it was red with white piping, and had chocolate biscuit cake inside, a delicious work of art!
What was your favourite moment of the day... "A special moment for us was when my brother Charlie, who was MC’ing, announced us into the marquee. We walked in surrounded by all our favourite people, everyone grinning and clapping and cheering…a pretty special moment.
Any advice for our couples? The best bit of advice we were given was, every couple of hours, to take a step back, just the two of us, and take it all in because it’s all over before you know it.
Congratulations to Jenny and Maz on their wedding day!
