'Our Own Little Fairytale': Regan & Robbie's Castle Wedding

A luxe garden party with oodles of personal touches!

Knowing that the bride in today's real wedding runs a bespoke event business, we expected this celebration to be pretty special. But nothing could have prepared us for the level of attention to detail and the sheer volume of personal touches in this beautiful bash! Regan and Robbie's big day at Chiddingstone Castle was all about fusing old-world romance with modern elegance. Their colour palette of muted blues and gold is positively Pinterest-worthy, but despite the extravagant surroundings, there's still a cosy, welcoming feel to this party (it might have something to do with the fact that the couple's name appears on almost every item in sight!). Camilla Arnhold was the photographer on the day - let's take a closer look at her work, shall we!?

Regan and Robbie tell us that they first met in a London bar, just over ten years ago. "After two weeks of texting, we decided to go on a date and it went on from there!"

For his proposal, Robbie whisked Regan off to Cornwall for a long weekend. "We stayed at a lovely hotel and he seemed quite nervous the whole time," Regan remembers. "One night, after we came back from the outdoor hot tub, we were sitting on the balcony and Robbie got down on one knee and proposed! I said yes, but unfortunately, as we had just come out of the hot tub, the ring didn’t fit my finger!"

From the beginning, Regan and Robbie had a very specific goal for their wedding. "Our biggest priority for the day was to find a location that felt very British," Regan says. "As my family are all American, I wanted to make sure that, if they were going to come all this way for the wedding, then they should get a very British experience."

Regan's bridal makeup look is so clean and pretty - it really allows her natural beauty to shine through!

What is it about parents in wedding photographs that always makes us tear up!?

For their reception venue, the couple chose Chiddingstone Castle in Kent. "There were a few things that let us know it was the one when we first went to visit," Regan tells us. "The first thing was that Chiddingstone Castle let you rent the entire venue. Nothing is held back and there are so many different places and locations. It just felt right."

Combined with St Mary the Virgin church in Chiddingstone, it was the perfect spot for this celebration. "When walked over the bridge to the town with the church, we couldn’t contain our excitement. The church was older than the US, and the town was so lovely and quaint! It really felt like if you got married in the church and had the reception at the Castle, you were renting out the village for the day!"

Oh, I do enjoy a drinks reception on the lawn!

Regan's bridal look is so chic and effortless. We love how she used a delicate belt to add a bit of sparkle to her St. Patrick gown!

The couple's dog, Rafa, played a starring role in the big day! I've just got one question: can I get away with wearing a hydrangea garland around my neck at the next wedding I attend, or is it strictly a canine thing?!

Regan's biggest piece of advice for engaged couples is to remember to enjoy every minute! "It goes by a lot faster than you think and you want to make sure you see everyone who is there to celebrate with you!"

Regan tells us that she did quite a bit of DIY for the big day. "I ended up making a lot of the elements for the wedding. One of the main things I created were the table napkins, which were embroidered with our wedding logo. The wedding coordinator at the venue said that she was surprised we hadn’t personalised the flag, based on the amount of personalisation we did! Once we realised that we could actually do that, we made sure to add that in, too!"

These baby blue bridesmaids dresses by Watters are so chic, and they match the look and vibe of the day so perfectly!

Regan really let her creative juices flow in the run-up to the wedding, as evidenced by these custom-made can coolers! "I wanted to make sure that we incorporated my Dad and Brother’s business in our wedding favours, as I think they are really unique and fun. In the US, can coolers are a really popular party favour. I drew the castle for the favours and designed the back. We thought it would also be a nice way to bring some American touches to the wedding!"

We told you this was a highly personal affair!

After the wedding, Regan and Robbie headed off to the hotel where they got engaged, The Scarlet Hotel in Cornwall. For their honeymoon, they've chosen the Maldives, which we think sounds pretty incredible!

And there you have it - a wedding day fit for royalty! Before we go, we have to say a huge thank you to Regan and Robbie for giving us a cheeky look at their big day, and to Camilla Arnhold Photography for sharing the beautiful photographs with us.
