Happy Good Friday everyone! Yesterday we showed how crazy we are for doilies - inspired by the delicate doily look we created a new wedding DIY project: Candle Boxes. We thought these pretty little boxes would be cute for holding tealights as part of your wedding table decoration.
Using patterned or coloured paper to complement your wedding theme and punching patterns into the edging gives that extra little detail and at a cost of just pennies.
What You Need:
- Doublesided card (I found this pretty patterned card in Art & Hobby in Jervis Shopping Centre)
- Decorative Punch
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil
- Candle Box Template (below)
- Tealights
- Download and print out the template below
- Cut out the template and sketch around in pencil
- Cut out the shape of the box
- Use the punch along the flat edge of the paper
- Fold along the lines indicated in the template
- Create the box shape folding the small flaps inwards
- Glue along the small flaps and secure
- Leave to dry (hot glue will take 5 minutes, standard glue will take a couple of hours)
Then tah-dah you have your first candle box. They take about 5 minutes to make so you'll get a full set down in an hour. Easy Peasy.
Watch out over the next day or so and we'll have a table setting done up to show how cute these can look...
