Be Your Specsy Self!

Why do we get so many questions from brides about whether they should wear glasses or not? Probably because in wedding media - magazines and online - we rarely see bridal editorials or wedding dresses styled with glasses. But when you think about it, it's the same aswith regular fashion shoots, but we still wear our specs everyday with our usual wardrobes so why not with our bridal look too. So we say, if glasses are part of your look - wear them!

Wearing Glasses on your Wedding Day - Tips and Things to Remember

  • Firstly, if you wear glasses every  day, pictures of you without them may look strange and unfamiliar.
  • Wearing glasses can make it quite difficult to wear full strip lashes, so try individual lashes instead.
  • Avoid wearing lots of jewellery as it may make your overall look quite fussy.
  • If wearing a veil, be careful with soft fabric versions as they may cling to your face a little more and could possibly snag in your glasses
  • Have a chat with both your makeup artist and hairdresser about working with your look and practice wearing your glasses after your hair and makeup trials.
  • Chat to your photographer if you are worried about a glare in the images.
  • Why not buy a special new pair for the big day, maybe ones with a softer colour frame that works with your colour scheme, anti-glare or perhaps a special designer pair? That way you will be as excited to put them on on the big day as your new wedding shoes!
