Choosing a look for your best pals on the big day is equal parts fun and stressful, which is precisely why today, we're bringing you the most gorgeous bridesmaids dresses trends for 2019. If you're fashion-obsessed, we know you'll be dying to see the colours and styles that are currently flooding the shops, but equally, if you're not a huge follower of trends, it helps to know what to expect when you start your bridesmaid dress search. This year is all about bold colours and statement detailing, so prepare to gasp when you see some of these looks!
1. Cornflower Blue Bridesmaids Dresses
Blue bridesmaids dresses are a consistently popular choice but 2019 finds a particularly fetching shade taking centre stage - cornflower blue. A medium shade with cool, purplish undertones, this one flatters most skin tones and fits in well with lots of colour palettes, particularly those with corals or blush pinks, so it's a good option for brides who fancy a mix-and-match look.
2. Yellow Bridesmaids Dresses
Yellow is kind of a magical colour, isn't it? Not only does it give you an instant boost when you put it on, but it can help brighten up wedding portraits on a less-than-sunny day! There's a shade to suit everyone (many of we've discussed in this feature), but rich, golden hues are a particular favourite of ours at the moment.
3. Orange Bridesmaids Dresses
Although generally one of the least popular colours in the world of fashion, orange is more elegant and wearable than you might think, if you find the right gown! Shades of vibrant tangerine and rustic rust are among the easiest to style, but we've seen bridal parties rock pretty orange pastels with huge success, too! Of course, there's no reason why you have to stick to just one shade!
4. White Bridesmaids Dresses
Once a major bridal party no-no, white bridesmaids dresses are gaining popularity fast - in fact, we've got a whole feature about them! This is one trend that's a dream to style - find white bridesmaids dresses that are significantly different to your own (a contrasting length, style, neckline, etc.) and make sure that the shades of white compliment each other (avoid pairing cool white with warm ivory, etc.), and you're good to go! They're a handy option if you're going for a coloured wedding dress, too!
5. Halter-neck Bridesmaids Dresses
Meghan Markle essentially broke the internet when she revealed her second wedding dress, a slick halterneck number by Stella McCartney, last May, it's no surprise that it's one of the biggest bridesmaids dresses trends for 2019!
6. Luxe Bridesmaids Dresses
This trend is less about specific colours and shapes and more about attitude. We've noticed lots of brides going all out to give their girls luxury fabrics and intricate details lately, often at the expense of their own style budget, which you have to admit, is pretty generous! This doesn't necessarily mean going out and buying high-end, blow-the-budget bridesmaids dresses. With a bit of clever sale-hunting, you should be able to nab beautifully designed gowns that match the quality of your own!
