A little while ago we got a lovely email from a reader (who shall of course remain nameless) who was looking for options for her bridesmaids - specifically she wanted her bridesmaids to wear navy and prefereably asymmetrical (one shoulder) dresses. We were happy to help and the usual search ensued. We came up with some lovely options (even if we do say so ourselves) and of course we didn't want to waste them. So we thought we'd share them with you as a bit of bridesmaid inspiration. We've split this inspiration board up (just to add a little frisson of excitement) and today we're showing our take for a more elegant bridesmaid look.
What screams elegant bridesmaid we thought? Eh, lace, satin, sparkle, (drool... not so elegant then).
This lace asymmetrical deep blue dress comes from Oasis and is a lovely very on-trend look but such good value. Of course you can't beat a bit o'sparkle - so we added the diamante-encrusted clutch bag, which comes from Dune and the swarovski crystal drop earrings from Karen Millen.
You can't really see it properly in that picture but those Kurt Geiger navy satin platforms have a lovely gold and crystal beetle bug ornament on the bow (had to sneak some fun in there somewhere). And finally it's topped off with a splash of designer nail polish - Chanel Le Vernis 475 Dragon - a fire-breathing pillar box red. Very Mad Men!
So we've kept to the high street with this one, and not gone madly over budget so whether you're a bride paying for the bridesmaids outfit, or a bridesmaid paying for her own, this would be totally affordable. And, with Christmas coming up, every bit of this outfit will get a second, third or ... outing.
Happy Freeday everyone! Have a fantastic Weekend xx
