The Space at Ballintubbert House and Gardens
Located in a beautiful valley between the village of Stradbally, Co. Laois, and the town of Athy, Co. Kildare, but within minutes of the motorway, Ballintubbert estate benefits from lush organic gardens, stunning water features and mature trees. There is an abundance of choice when it comes to choosing your outdoor ceremony location. From the grand steps overlooking the front canal, to the fountain garden where the organic gardens encompass the beautiful fountain creating the most intimate ceremony space. For a more woodland feel, there is a stunning green canopy of lime trees forming a natural church where the suns dappled lighting creates the most magical atmosphere. Â
After your ceremony, guests are directed to the Orchard which is the perfect location for your relaxed outdoor drinks reception. Ballintubbert House proudly partners with the wonderful Bohemia Canvas for its signature Pavilion Marquee, which can accommodate up to 180 guests for your meal. This is where guests can dance the night away, or simply sit outside chatting by the fire pit on the great lawn.
The Accommodation at Ballintubbert House
Featuring an incredible clash of old and new, the interiors at Ballintubbert House are worth taking the time to marvel at! It once played home to famous poet C. Day Lewis, and actors Sebastian Shaw and John Hurt, and you can feel the history emanating from the walls. The main house boasts a selection of luxuriously decorated rooms, including five large double bedrooms for you and your wedding party to reside in.
Just outside there are four tastefully decorated rooms overlooking Shackleton Garden in the garden wing. The Old School House offers a home from home feel, and boasts five beautiful bedrooms. For those who enjoy a late-night sing along around the campfire, there are six luxurious canvas yurts in the stunning glamping village which are comfortably furnished and heated, with double beds and electricity supply. Ballintubbert House can accommodate 42 guests with some fantastic accommodation in the locality and bus companies providing shuttle service to local accommodation.

Ballintubbert House is exclusively managed and catered by The Gourmet Kitchen under the leadership of owner and executive chef, Liam Prendiville. At Ballintubbert, the menus focus on using hyper-local suppliers as well as the organic produce on site and working with the seasons to create dishes that let the ingredients speak for themselves. Ballintubbert House work with couples to create something special for each event. The team love creating dishes to be shared as much as a delicately designed plate of food from an à la carte style service.Â
