Close your eyes and picture yourself in the beautiful French countryside. The sunlight touches everything, as the sound of classical music swirls through echoing rooms and your senses take in the aroma of fresh blossoming florals. Now open your eyes and prepare to be swept off your feet. This inspirational wedding shoot was, captured by the talented Heritage Story, and is inspired by two of her dear passions - ballet and photography. The balletcore trend is capturing the hearts of brides everywhere, who love the emphasis on playfully pretty, dainty details, soft colours and an abundance of tulle and ribbon, this elegant shoot shows why. Without keeping you on your toes any longer, let's twirl our way through this dreamy selection of delightful balletcore-inspired shots!
Let's begin with the fine details. We love the simple deckled edge stationery, kissed with swirling calligraphy, ballet-themed stamps, and paired with a beautiful satin ribbon, reminiscent of a pair of delcate ballet shoes.
This two-piece wedding dress of lace and silky satin is made for movement. The full A-line skirt is ideal for a bride who plans on twirling her way through her wedding day. "We chose a wedding dress in two parts for the dancers to hold each other easily while they were dancing," explains photographer Maryem.
The groom is styled in a deep navy blue three-piece suit. Tailored to perfection and accompanied with a contrasting and textured emerald green bow tie for an extra pop of colour. "We engaged two professional ballet dancers for this shoot because we wanted true movements and true emotions while dancing."
Chateau Grange Cochard, the idyllic French estate where this magical shoot took place, is a wedding venue nestled in nature, surrounded by vineyards and situated only 45km from the city of Lyon, in east-central France. The castle has an Orangerie that is ideal for either an indoor or outdoor ceremony. "We highlighted the dance part of this shoot with a video, shot in the castle and its Oranegry. Our aim was to immerse the bride and groom in this universe, this atmosphere that is both refined, elegant, and passionate. "
Maryem, explains how she brought the inspiration to life: "My love for the great classical ballets inspired me to co-create this shoot with French wedding planner, Aude Grosbois. From a very young age, ballet has been the symbol of elegance."
Aude and Maryem created romantic décor with a pastel palette that is seen throughout, from the florals and fabrics to the candles. The tablescape showcases a beautiful floral garland that flows to the floor. The pink folded napkins surround a soft mint green voile table runner and finished with gilded golden cutlery and candlesticks. "Our florist created cascading flower arrangements for us, which fall from the table to give the impression that they were also dancing!"
"We imagined this shoot in a similar dimension. Fluid and light fabrics which soar with movement, with a lot of white, and some green detail. The objective was to obtain bright images full of life and elegance. Our two models have known each other for a long time, so their closeness wasn't feigned," says Maryem. We adore the oh-so pretty cake display captured below. Surrounded by delicious French pâtisserie and an elegant champagne tower. Ooh, la la!
