Today's real wedding is a masterclass in low-fuss, high-impact styling. Boasting neutral colours and lots and lots of lush greenery, it's the kind of effortlessly pretty day that will never look dated! Clare couple Naomi and Damien chose the phenomenal Ashley Park in Co. Tipperary as the backdrop for their wedding, and it sounds like they had an amazing time - between the ice cream, the fire dancers and the silent disco, how could they not!? We had so much fun poring over all the details from their big day, showcased here in beautiful imagery by Awake and Dreaming Photography, that we just couldn't wait to share this one with you. Enjoy!
Doesn't Naomi make an absolutely radiant bride!? We'll be chatting through her bridal look further down the post!
Naomi tells us that she first met Damien in the local night club in Ennis, the Queens. "We had mutual friends in school but had never met or spoke," she says. "Damien had spotted me in college in LIT a few weeks prior to us meeting for the first time, then we officially met on Paddy’s night."
When it came time to propose, Damien designed a beautiful engagement ring with jewellers Matthew Stephens. "He collected it on a Wednesday and couldn’t wait until the weekend so he proposed that night after work," Naomi says. "We both were working the following day, but it was absolutely amazing, as it was so exciting telling everyone. Damien graduated from college that Friday and he had planned a surprise engagement party that night with all our friends and family."
The lakeside Boathouse at Ashley Park is such a gorgeous space for a ceremony. What a view! We're also huge fans of the couple's floral moon gate.
Naomi and Damien's hopes for the big day were pretty simple from the beginning. "We just wanted all our family and friends to enjoy it as much as we did, " Naomi says, "and for it to be a chilled, relaxed, fun weekend."
Ashley Park ticked all the boxes for this pair. "The location was just absolutely amazing. It’s so stunning and the boathouse for the ceremony and the glass pavilion for the reception were just fabulous."
We can never resist an ice-cream cart at a wedding! Make mine a honeycomb, please!
The couple's wedding party outfits featured some stunning high street finds, including these bridesmaids dresses from ASOS, and flower girl and page boy outfits from Next.
Naomi's jaw-dropping, long-sleeved wedding dress is a bespoke gown by Orlaith Carroll at The Attic in Limerick. "It was a pleasure dealing with her," Naomi says. "She’s so talented, along with the rest of her team. It was so exciting going down for each appointment and seeing all the steps along the way. I absolutely loved being apart of that, it made it extra special." The sleeves on the gown were also detachable, so Naomi was able to remove them for dancing!
Naomi tells us that the couple were beyond thrilled with how their bash turned out. "It was absolutely the best day and weekend spent with all our family and friends. We really couldn’t have believed how much fun it was going to be and it was just so chilled. An absolute belter!"
Naomi's advice to engaged couples is to really enjoy the build up to the big day. "And do exactly what you want to do as a couple," she adds.
After the wedding, Naomi and Damien jetted off to Ibiza for four days. Later in the year, they went to visit family and friends in Australia and New Zealand, which sounds just dreamy!
That's a wrap on Naomi and Damien's big day! At this point, we have to say a huge thank you to the couple for sharing their gorgeous wedding with us, and to Awake and Dreaming Photography for providing the beautiful imagery. Be sure to click through to the gallery for more.
