1. Malta
April is warm and welcoming on the small, rocky island of Malta. Soak up the culture in Valetta before heading to the rocky beaches and caves for snorkelling or diving.
2. Switzerland
Zermatt, Switzerland, is a mountain resort renowned for its natural beauty, skiing, climbing and hiking. Head to the high peaks for spring snow and hiking, and then enjoy the numerous chic lounges and bars in the small, friendly town by night.
3. Africa
For a solid tanning (and cultural experience) book Marrakech, for imperial architecture and lively souks, or Namibia, for wildlife and the dessert African experience. Both unique and wonderful experiences at this time of year.
4. Crete
A chill Greek destination where you can simply sit back, relax and enjoy great food, great locals, great views and great pre-summer weather.
5. Amsterdam
One of my favourite cities in Europe. April is Tulip season and a perfect time to experience the many restaurants, bars and galleries of Amsterdam. Stay in De Pijp and enjoy your morning coffee at Scandinavian Embassy or Bakers and Roasters.
6. Tokyo
For the trip of a lifetime visit Tokyo during cherry blossom season - which runs from late March through mid-April. Dine on the world’s best sushi, experience a truly foreign scenery and culture from the kitsch to the insanely beautiful.
7. Lisbon
Popularity for the city of Lisbon, Portugal continues to grow, and for good reason. Enjoy the best of both worlds in Lisbon - the cool city vibe, and the more chill surfer beach element in Caxias or Parede.
8. America
California, Nevada and Las Vegas, Louisiana, Washington and Florida are all perfect choices - as it's off-peak you should be able to grab some good deals.
