Starting off their day with a beautiful church ceremony, our real wedding couple Amy and Mark carried on their city celebrations at Parisien in the heart of Belfast. Transporting their wedding guests to their relaxed restaurant reception via a picture-perfect vintage bus, this couple forewent a first dance, speeches and a wedding cake. With Adam & Grace Photography there to capture the day's events, check out Amy and Mark's spectacular wedding below!
Let's get to know the couple a bit more! "Our first date was in St George's market Belfast - after a walk, drink and a bite to eat, we still didn't want to go home so we went for coffee and agreed to meet up again later that week for mini golf and burgers at (our now favourite) restaurant and that was that!"
Fast forward to their sweet proposal story: "Mark drove us down onto Benone Beach during a weekend away up north. He surprised me with a very thoughtful candlelight picnic looking out at the sea and a beautiful ring he chose. Mark was classically calm and I cried!"
Our glowing bride Amy wore a phenomenal Madi Lane gown accompanied by her bridesmaids in a medley of sage green mix-and-match dresses.
The couple began their summer celebration with a serene church ceremony with none other than Amy's father serving as celebrant! "My brother walked me down the aisle, my dad married us… that felt very special."
After their ceremony, which included readings and music preformed by the couple's friends and family, the wedding party travelled in style across the city in a vintage red double decker bus!
Amy and Mark chose the ever-stylish Parisien restaurant for their reception: "Having a spot in Belfast that we had been to on a date, fell in love with and wanted to share with our favourite people meant that we were already sold on the venue before we knew they did weddings... It also feels special to know we can go back to Parisien for anniversaries, birthdays or just because!"
Wanting their wedding day to be a relaxed, chilled out city celebration: "The ceremony was our focus as we wanted our vows to be central to the day. We wanted to dwell on that moment and celebrate it with family and friends. Beyond the ceremony we prioritised good food and good fun. The team at Parisien did all this - we did very little!"
Amy and Mark had this advice for couples: "Focus on the important things that are significant to you as a couple and remember it's a celebration - it's exciting and memorable and fun! Think about what's important to you both and focus in on that. Keep talking about what's important to you both and it will help with what can feel like big decisions during planning. The best advice we got was to think about our life after the wedding twice as much as the day itself."
The couple's evening went on to include a silent disco and plenty of delicious dessert at Parisien: "We didn't really have too much to worry about in terms of décor or aesthetic because we felt our venue spoke for itself in that sense."
In terms of their well-deserved honeymoon, the newlyweds jetted off to Dubrovnik in Croatia: "It's beautiful - the people are so friendly, welcoming and keen to recommend local wine and food. We're having a great time relaxing here… probably the most beautiful sea in the world!"
