Unusually, Brazilian girl Marina first met Irish beau Frank, while staying in a hostel in Dublin. Frank had coincidentally just returned from travelling South America, while Marina was just ending her European travels. Luck intervened and their fate together was sealed. In celebration of their love Marina and Frank hosted a relaxed and romantic city centre wedding at two locations - the unique Smock Alley Theatre and the always inviting Anglers Rest. Ivana Patarcic Photography joined them, and it's a pleasure to share her work with you today.
Marina remembers how she and Frank got together..."Weirdly enough, since I'm Brazilian, Frank had just returned from South America and was working in a hostel in Dublin. I had been traveling a bit through Europe and during the final leg of my adventure I happened to stay in the hostel that Frank was working in. I was staying there for a week and we saw each other every day, even when Frank was not working he would come over with CDs he made for me and show me around the city. I was surprisingly sad for that week to end, but we kept in touch with the odd email, then came Skype, and the following year I was moving back to Ireland as his girlfriend."
Taking Marina by surprise Frank proposed at night, in the rain, outside the first home they shared together. As Marina recalls..."It was simple and perfect."
After volunteering at the Dublin Fringe Festival at Smock Alley, Marina quickly fell in love with the building and knew it was the perfect place for her and Frank to share their vows.
Fully utilising the space Marina and Frank shared their first dance in "The Boys School" at Smock Alley, before hopping in a car with photographer Ivana Patarcic to their reception at The Anglers Rest. Marina remembers..."Ivana was amazing throughout the whole day and felt more like a friend."
Absolutely adore Marina's vintage Dirty Fabulous wedding dress which she paired perfectly with a vintage necklace gifted to her from Frank's mum and Kate Spade brogues...
To compliment the cosy nature of Anglers Rest, Marina and Frank decorated the space with lush flowers by Lovebird Designs, quaint bird prints, lots of romantic candles and a selection of delectable cakes by The Wedding Cake Boutique - complete with Japanese inspired cake toppers.
Inspired by their love of Japanese culture Marina and Frank then honeymooned in Japan. A huge congratulations to you both, and thanks so much for sharing your beautiful Anglers Rest & Smock Alley Theatre wedding with us all.
