Add a Splash of Colour - fun wedding shoes

I'm sure by now some of you have noticed that I have a bit of a thing for shoes. It's more than a "thing" more like an obsession. I haven't even started looking for my own wedding shoes, but one thing I'm fairly certain of is that they are not going to be white. Don't get me wrong, I love white shoes and some of the bridal styles really make me drool, but I'm going to have a country wedding, and I think white and grass don't quite mix when you're a clutz.

I also like surprising people, so I want my shoes to add a unexpected little splash of colour peeping out from under my dress. Just like all these blushing brides, all of whom hitched up their dresses to reveal a secret (stylish) rebel!

Underneath that dress...

Opting for a colour means you have a much wider choice of styles from sky high platforms to ballet flats.Though to be fair many bridal shoes makers offer the option of dyeing shoes any colour you want, just as with bridesmaids shoes.

So here's a few ideas to get you started - we have found every colour of the rainbow, from canary yellow to amethyst.

For the fruity bride: orange peeptoe shoes from Zappos ($63) or the sunshine bride: yellow slingbacks from Reiss(£86).

Something blue? Pale blue jitterbug heels from KG (£59) or purple passion: purple satin sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti (€291)

And every kind of style, from elegant to super funky...

Can't decide on one colour? Why not go for 20 with a crazy pattern like these Megumi from Hetty Rose? Green with envy? These green snakeskin shoes with pompom are from Shoes of Prey (€200).

A little love heart surprise for your hubbie - these Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Heart heels (€150). And finallly, pretty in pink: coral red Hallie court shoes by KG (£90)

Still haven't figured out what mine are going to be like. Though KG is going to be my first stop next pay cheque - choice is fantastic at the moment and the sale is on, yippee!
