We may all be a little grumpy that the weather is cold and the days are short and dark, but today's real wedding is going to shift your whole perspective on a Winter wedding. Mairi and Gert's Winter wonderland wedding in Estonia has all the best bits about Winter - beautiful white snow, regal fur hats, and a bride and groom who look like they're so happy they can't feel the cold at all! We're thrilled to be sharing Mait Jüriado Photography's photos with you today, they're perfect for a morning scroll with a cup of hot cocoa...
Mairi and Gert's love story is a lot like their wedding day a mysterious, beautiful fairytale romance. They decided to get married in their native Estonia during Winter and as you can see the landscape is covered in a blanket of snow and I feel like we've stepped back to the 19th century to witness a secret romance.
Mairi could have been plucked out of a storybook romance with her beautiful antique princess style. The beautiful lace wedding dress she chose, is delicate in parts, with fur accents and long sleeves to keep in line with the cold Winter season. It is for sure the epitome of a Winter wonderland gown and against Mairi's beautiful red locks it's just stunning, don't ya think?
She kept her hair and accessories simple, letting the dress speak for itself, adding simple white tights and pretty white shoes with jewel brooches.
Adding a modern twist to traditional Estonian Winter warmers, the handsome groom mixed grey and black accessories with his black overcoat, we're not kidding when we say it's cold at this time of year in Estonia, so wrapping up was essential, that doesn't mean you can't look stylish though! We think Gert pulled his handsome groom style off perfectly and we see a bit of an Estonian king in his look!
White was an overwhelmingly present colour in this wedding as it spread across the backdrop. The deep browns and rich greens in the trees are a stunning mix oozing romance and enchantment. Mairi took inspiration from the season when she chose her bouquet combining pine cones, winter berries and eucalyptus with pearls and a splash of yellow through the roses.
How gorgeous are these portraits. The worn brick adds warmth and texture that make these two love birds pop!
This really shows the stark cold weather outside but it's oh so romantic really and isn't this the sweetest shot of Mairi and Gert? We're hoping the beautiful bride put some winter boots on over her sweet white tights!
How amazing is this dress, the button detail is so gorgeous and compliments the other elements like the fur and lace detail.
Despite the snow, Mait Jüriado managed to capture the warmth of this couple. He used a nearby abandoned building to take some photos and the feminine Mairi looks stunning against the industrial details and decaying walls.
For the ceremony, Mairi and Gert decorated the church with bunches of tall white branches. Such a simple way to add height and a little jazz to an already beautiful church!
For their reception, the newlyweds finally got to warm up! The couple decorated their reception with lots of candles and sweet bunches of white balloons. Such a simple yet effective way to decorate a space.
The pair gave out jars of delicious traditional Estonian treats as wedding favours, that were beautifully packaged with navy ribbon.
Congratulations Mairi and Gert, on your special day! And thanks to Mait Jüriado Photography for sharing your work with us at One Fab Day! To see more of Mait Jüriado Photography pop over to www.mjstudios.co
