Fiona and Andrew met on a night out in Dublin (a very Irish way to meet!) They got to talking at the bar about anything and everything and they quickly realised that this was a meeting of fate and they were meant to be. How sweet is that, love at first sight does exist ladies and gentlemen!

When it came to popping the all important question, Andrew decided to keep it sweet and simple, like their first meeting. He took Fiona on a walk up the Slieve Bloom mountains in Co. Laois. Fiona was none the wiser of his plan to get down on one knee and so, she was completely taken by surprise! She said yes of course!

Fiona's bridal style is elegant and romantic. We adore her classic wedding gown that was designed and handmade by Frances Cuddy. The lace detail gives the gown added femininity and it is soft and delicate against Fiona's face. Fiona added a traditional yet soft up-do with a flower hair accessorie and for her 'something blue' her beautiful earrings were a gift from her groom!

When it came to adding a pop of colour, Fiona chose to add it through her bouquet, using bright pinks, soft lilacs, purple and a punch of yellow - gorgeous!

While Fiona and her bridesmaids were beautifying. Andrew and his groomsmen had some time to kill (as we all know most boys take a lot less time to get ready, even on their wedding day!) The boys headed off to the surrounding fields to blow off some steam and I'm sure it helped to calm Andrew's nerves before the ceremony. It's lovely to capture these moments too on your wedding day, so it's a plus to have a photographer that can capture both of your wedding prep moments!

After a morning of fun it was time to suit up and head to the church. Fiona and Andrew chose the Church of the Annunciation, in Co. Tipperary to say their 'I dos'.

Colourful groom style

Andrew looks very dapper himself, his navy suit is from Ted Baker and he teamed it up with a colourful flower print tie! Adding colour this way is a fun way to stand out from the crowd.

church pew decor

When it came to the decor in the church, the couple added beautiful blooms and peach flower sashes to the church pew ends. Andrew designed the mass booklets and invitations, and had a local company print them up. He incorporated the little birds from their wedding invitations to the illustrated design.

When it came to choosing the right venue for their special day, it didn't take too long to find. They were instantly smitten with Kilshane House . It ticked a lot of boxes on their priority list, it had a beautiful countryside setting, friendly staff, and a space that they could turn into their dream reception.

Blush pink seems to be popping up in a lot of real weddings lately and we can see why. It's a beautiful compliment to a wedding gown, it's feminine without being too girly and it has the ability to lend itself to different hair colours and styles. Fiona's blush pink bridesmaid's dresses are from Zara, and Frances Cuddy the seamstress who designed Fiona's dress custom-made the boleros for each one!

One of the biggest priorities for the couple on the wedding day was the flowers. Andrew and Fiona were lucky enough that both of their family homes had lush gardens and generous owners, who let the couple pluck what they needed! What they didn't have on hand, they supplemented from Wholesale Flowers in Sandyford. Andrew and Fiona made sure the rest of the wedding preparations were done in advance so during the last two days before the big day, they could focus on the flowers. This is great advice if you're planning to undertake one of the bigger DIY tasks for your wedding - make sure you leave enough time to do it without too much stress! As you can see though, the results are just beautiful.

One of the great things about Kilshane House as a venue, is the gorgeous grounds that surround it and on a sunny day like Fiona and Andrew's, it's the perfect location for some beautiful photographs.

The couple brought their love of flowers into the reception space too, with pretty florals in jars with ribbon details as table centerpieces and the couple used small pieces of slates as place cards.

For favours, the couple had little jars of local honey from Seamus Kennedy in Fethard-on-Sea.  Such a sweet idea - literally!

Fiona picked a great combination of DIY for the wedding cake, undertaking the top fruit cake layer herself, and having Kelly Lou Cakes work out the rest! The couple also chose to have a cheese spread from Sheridan Cheesemongers  and a sweet table - Yum!

Fiona has great advice for couples planning their weddings... Whether you ease through the preparations or struggle to get on top of all the details, be sure to leave the stress behind on the day so you can enjoy every moment of it - the more relaxed you are, the more of the day you will be able to remember! Especially important since the one thing each and every one of our couples agree on is that your day will simply fly by.
