It's been a while since we've been transported to a destination wedding in Italy, and frankly we've missed the sunshine. So we're particularly thrilled (especially with the horrible weather we've been having) to share today's nuptials - Sarah and Sean headed to the beautiful location of Sorrento, a dream location for many of us! So if you're thinking of having a wedding in Italy, then this beautiful celebration with a nod to the 1920s captured by Rochelle Cheever Photography should help...
Sean and Sarah met in 2009 while they were both "playing gooseberry" to their friends. They went to sit on the same chair at the same time so decided to share it and the pair have been sharing everything else since!
True to their style, their engagement was simple and relaxed... Sean presented me with an antique engagement ring and told me he loved me, that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and that he wanted me to be his wife.
Of course, their relaxed style extended to their wedding as well. They wanted a relaxed, informal Italian vintage feel. Because Sarah's engagement ring was a 1920s style, they decided to stick with that era for their theme. And what better place to find an Italian vibe than Italy?! The two had travelled throughout Italy and knew Sorrento would be just the spot to tie the knot. They had also spotted the cloisters, and knew it would be perfect for their outdoor destination wedding.
To suit the outdoor Summer celebration, Sarah's bridesmaids wore light coral dresses, paired with gold belts and beautiful floral crowns.
There was only one way for Sarah and Sean to arrive instyle and that was together! The bride and groom walked to the church, accompanied by all their guests as well as local musicians! The locals came out clapping and cheering 'Ciao bella !' as they walked by.
How dreamy is this shot? A sunny outdoor wedding ceremony amongst beautiful historic cloisters being serenaded by Italian musicians. Would love to have been a guest at this wedding!
The cloisters also provided the most incredible backdrop for photographs after the ceremony. Aren't those arches so romantic?
Sarah opted for vintage Hollywood glamour, with a beautiful silk art deco gown accessorized with an ostrich feather fan and beaded shawl.
Planning their wedding from the UK was a bit tricky for Sean and Sarah. They said they used Trip Advisor to make a lot of their decisions. Sarah suggests keeping things simple when you're planning a destination wedding... Don’t over think or complicate things; the destination will do most of the work. Relax and enjoy every minute, be yourselves and do it your own way. And Sarah and Sean's big day is a testament to that advice!
Congratulations, Sarah and Sean! A big thank you goes to Rochelle Cheever Photography for making us feel like we were on holidays with these two love birds this morning! To see more of Rochelle's work pop over to www.rochellecheever.com
