Dark Woodland Romance: Berry Red and Black Winter Wedding Palette

Dark yet dreamy...

Lots of couples write-off the idea of having a winter wedding because they think the dark days will be trickier to dress for or decorate. But around here, we're all about embracing winter and working with the shades of the season to create a gorgeous wedding with fab style and luxe florals. Rich tones taken from nature such as berry, fig and lush greens paired with lots of florals make for a beautifully moody palette on a grey day. With that in mind, we dreamt up a winter wedding moodboard with a opulent woodland twist, a berry red and black winter wedding palette. This might just convince you to opt for a wintertime soiree...

How To Create a Berry Red and Black Winter Wedding Palette...

  • The Stationery: Choose blackboard style suites with gold fonts or pretty calligraphy and bring in natural woodland elements into the design such as florals, foliage, animals or butterflies.
  • The Style: A sweet blush gown would look stunning and really shine in this winter setting. For the groom, a sharp black suit or velvet blazer and for the bridesmaids, choose dresses in berry hues or even black. Don't forget chic cover-ups for you and your girls to keep cosy from the winter breeze. Faux fur stoles would work great with this look.
  • Flowers: Pair velvety soft red and vintage-hued roses with seasonal greens and berries and some dramatic pink trailing amaranthus. Include other natural elements like figs, grapes and pomegranates for some added texture. Place clusters of blooms together for a more dramatic look.
  • Decor and Cake: Brass taper candleholders and antique finds dotted along your reception tables and around your venue really bring a romantic vibe. For the cake, choose a delicious soft iced confection decorated with with blooms and berries.
