Eventhough we look at beautiful wedding photographs all day long here at OFD HQ, there's still nothing quite so exciting as seeing the wedding of somebody we know - so today's wedding was one we literally squealed over (well I did anyway, the rest of them are more grown up...). Today we are delighted to be able to feature the beautiful garden wedding of Siobhan and Sam. Siobhan is Siobhan Byrne - super talented wedding photographer and all round lovely and stylee person (you've seen loads of her weddings on here I'm sure!) , so we knew her wedding in Trudder Lodge was going to fab, and boy were we excited to see how Tim from This Modern Love got on catching it all on camera.
Amazing. That's it. Amazing. This is a very modern love - a stunning boho-with-twist-of-vintage bride, a garden party in with beautiful blooms and a very dapper groom. We adore, and you will too...
Love birds Siobhan and Sam have been together for 11 years, and after that long together it was going to have to be a pretty special proposal to seal the deal. But contrary to the usual conventions, Sam decided that he might be spoiling Siobhan with a nice piece of jewellery and every girl's dream come true but he would have to spoil himself too so he decided to do it on his own birthday - sure what more could any man want than a fiance as the best birthday present ever! He proposed last July on his birthday in a Landmark Trust building in Enniskillen and gave Siobhan a big surprise... "It was very romantic and although we are together 11 years, I was still shocked!"
Siobhan has amazing style - anyone who has ever met her will tell you that. So it was no surprise that her choice of bridal look was unique and completely original. She chose a beautiful sweetheart strapless cream gown for the day to which she added some stunning accessories - a beautiful handmade headpiece specially commissioned and wore a jewel embellished bolero over her gown to set it off.
Sam looks very dapper in his 3-piece navy blue suit, complete with a vintage pocket watch and pattern tie.
When it came to the venue, Siobhan and Sam had some important priorities. They didn't want their guests to have to travel too far, they wanted somewhere they could both throw a party and have space outdoors and Siobhan wanted a venue where she hadn't worked as a wedding photographer before - somewhere that could be uniquely theirs, the choice in the end was fairly simple... "Trudder Lodge was fairly new on the wedding scene at the time and it fit the bill perfectly. It has old world charm and felt very homely. It was comfortable and not too stuffy and just up the road from us. "
While Sam and Siobhan were focused on their garden party reception, they realised how important their ceremony was and put a lot of time and thought into it, in the end, Siobhan and Sam said it was the highlight of their day! They decided on a humanist ceremony and the weather cooperated long enough that they were able to have it outdoors! The couple also added a special twist that we loved...We wanted our parents to be part of the ceremony so we asked them each to write us a letter that we put in a box that we won't open until our 25th anniversary, a sort of time capsule!
Yippee! It's official for Siobhan and Sam.
Sam and Siobhan wanted to create a relaxed garden party vibe for their wedding, a celebration that was true to their style. The setting of Trudder Lodge couldn't have been more romantic, with greenery everywhere, incredible flowers on the property, and lots of outdoor space.
While their guests enjoyed cocktails and antipasti on the lawn, Siobhan and Sam popped off for some intimate photographs with This Modern Love.
Siobhan is every bit the gorgeous bride - we love the splash of colour in her lipstick!
Back at the lodge, the newlyweds joined their guest for a reception in a beautifully decorated marquee.
We love the old window table plan, easy to put together and super impressive.
The couple enlisted Mary of Floralicious Flowers to help turn all of the indoor spaces into a garden party...There were informal arrangements all over the house, the marquee, hanging from the ceiling. It looked and smelled beautiful, just what we wanted.
Siobhan's day job came out in the table numbers - vintage images as Polaroids!
The couple also chose to use bunches and bunches of rosemary - an inexpensive but beautiful way to add texture, greenery and scent to your floral decor!
From a bride who has been on both sides of the wedding process, Siobhan has great advice for brides and grooms planning their own weddings... Choose suppliers who are good at what they do and let them do it. Don't micro-manage, they're the pro's.
Congratulations, Sam and Siobhan on your beautiful outdoor celebration! Of course a big thank you goes to This Modern Love for sharing this beautiful garden party with us today! To see more of This Modern Love's work pop over to www.thismodernlove.co.uk
