It's Monday morning, and we thought we'd start the week off with a bit of fun wedding inspiration - we received an email a few days ago from a lovely reader who had a particular Wedding Dilemma...

Hi girls!

Love the website. My dilemma is as follows and I hope you can help. We are planning to get married in a little Dingle village surronded by stunning scenery, traditional bars/music/language etc. It will be intimate, 50ish guests, civil ceremony with views out to the sea, drinks reception in a cool traditional Irish bar with some local traditional musicians, meal in the restaurant of the village hotel and entertainment in the hotel bar for the night. Our guests will be using all rooms in the hotel and the whole bar will essentially be reserved for us so we will practically have exclusive, full use of the hotel. It is our perfect wedding and we can't wait. My Q, finally - I would like to add some touches/a theme to the tables etc in the restaurant room for our meal. Nothing too mad, I'm not at all artistic and the budget is an issue obv, but I can't think of or find a theme that would tie in with the whole 'traditional Irish village' without being twee....Do you know what I mean?!?!? I hope so. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated...

So we thought about everything this bride said, and had a look at the gorgeous picture of her family on the local beach she sent, we thought that taking a slightly rustic, very natural approach influenced by the landscape around the village would be a great theme for the wedding decor.

So we came up with a simple palette of greens, white and pale blue, that together with the use of natural materials gives the idea of tradition and village life, without being twee. Essentially the idea is take all the beauty of the surrounding hills, fields and seascape and incorporate them into the wedding.

With a great venue that is traditional and has great character, you need to compliment it, rather than superimpose a different style on top of it.

Using natural materials such as wood, moss, grass, twigs and pretty white flowers that are in season and native, is both clever and inexpensive. Pretty much everything shown here could be made easily, with the exception of the wedding stationery, sets we chose because they are pretty and well-designed giving that polished look to the whole theme. For the rest of the items such as the centrepieces or the wooden guest book - you could rope in family and friends to each make some bits and pieces, as all of the items come from the surrounding countryside it would be simple and very budget-friendly to do.
