Today we have the great pleasure of featuring the beautiful wedding of Paul & Diane, who were married last Summer on a glorious day in Dublin. Their wedding was a mix of all that makes Dublin a fantastic city - from the Georgian splendour of their ceremony to the contemporary fun of their reception, they created a great day incorporating all the elements they clearly love about Dublin.
Their lovely wedding photographer Johannes was on hand to catch all the fun and frolics as they wandered round town and he clearly has a great eye as he created some really stunning images as you will see...
Diane is a bride with an amazing sense of style - I adore her choice of three necklaces of varying lengths - there's a touch of Chanel to her look. And the headpiece by Beibhinn Flood is a mix of vintage inspired and pure fun. Diane's accessories perfectly complement the elegant lines of her Pronuptia gown perfectly. And the shoes, the shoes, the Jimmy Choos...
Paul & Diane specifically chose a citrus colour palette of orange and yellow to reflect their fun and informal approach - loving Paul's orange socks just peeping out above!
Diane and Paul started their day with their civil ceremony being celebrated in the Card Room of the Stephen's Green Hibernian Club. This magnificent room boasts a gorgeous plasterwork in the ceiling centred around a dome. The perfect spot to start married life.
Directly after the ceremony, the guests popped downstairs to the Reading Room on the first floor for a celebratory glass of bubbly, and were popped onto an Open Top City Bus Tour to do the rounds of the city, while Diane and Paul and their bridal party took to the streets for some very special wedding portraits. This is such a lovely idea, for guests from home and abroad alike - a great laugh and a fresh look at the city sights on a sunny day really reminds you how lovely Dublin is.
A brief stroll down Grafton Street took the happy couple into Wilde, the bar at the Westbury for some well-deserved celebratory cocktails. Diane donned a very chic white jacket from H&M (see - style is not about spend) for the foray...
Continuing their travels around Dublin, the couple wandered down Grafton Street, via the Stag's Head for a swift pint, finally arriving in their reception venue Fallon & Byrne on Exchequer St. to greet their guests just off the bus...
Diane and Paul continued their citrus theme of sunny yellow and bright tangerine throughout the decor of the reception room in Fallon & Byrne, with orchids highlighting the floral arrangements and yellow candy-striped sweet bags as wedding favours.
A lovely touch added by the families and friends were photoboards on the walls of the couple at different stages from childhood right through to the present day.
Diane heaped praise on their wedding reception venue "the food in Fallon and Byrne was exceptional and the service was attentive without being overbearing" and also on the Stephens Green Hibernian Club who managed everything exceptionally.
Congratulations to Diane & Paul, thank you so much for sharing your day with us and wishing you a wonderful married life!
And huge thanks to Johannes for sharing these gorgeous pictures with us. They are only a sneak peek, the rest can be seen over on Johannes Photography along with lots more of hisbeautiful wedding photography.
